Finding le Roi was a very nice surprise. Visiting Jean talon during the week offers limited options. When we saw le Roi was opened, it was an easy decision. Once inside, the ambience was cozy & welcoming. The menu is quite extensive & everything we tried was delicious & served in generous portions. Horchata is a must! The service was good, however, the food left much to be desired. While the guacamole & churros were good, the other dishes fell short of expectations. The flavors were disappointingly bland & lacked the vibrant, bold tastes typically associated with Mexican cuisine. Considering the price point, I expected a more memorable culinary experience. I'm not originally from Montreal & I've learned that you have to choose where you eat here carefully because otherwise you'll get ripped off. This restaurant is one of the most overpriced restaurants I have seen so far. I had the tacos & have rarely seen so little for so much money. The taste was normal, not bad not good. The service was also very average. I've gotten used to the fact that in Montreal you have to be careful where you eat, but even by Montreal standards this is too much.View more
