Review Summary

El Pequeño Bar is described as the smallest bar in Canada with a bold rum-forward cocktail program and a warm, intimate vibe. There is no standard menu, and drinks are customized to taste, often delivering strong, balanced flavors that guests call dangerously delicious. The atmosphere is consistently praised for being cozy and social, with attentive, knowledgeable staff who craft inventive cocktails on the fly and offer thoughtful recommendations, making the experience feel personal yet communal. Guests note memorable nights filled with lively conversation, great hospitality, and drinks that showcase a superb rum selection. Overall, this spot stands out for world-class cocktails in a tiny space, blending theater like service, vibrant energy, and a strong sense of place that keeps visitors returning.

Upon visiting this fine establishment I had high expectations, for outside I could see the laughter, feel the cheer, & sense a general what the kids would say “good vibe,” yet upon ordering the banana chips, I found myself highly dissatisfied: no salt, no ketchup, & so on, which, I must say, is an odd choice for this dish—I expected a magnanimous portion, fit for a feast of the grandest proportions: & nothing but disappointment followed me through this gustatory adventure. I must tell you that the banana chips are to be avoided at all cost. It’s a national travesty that these chips are as they are, for I’m sure that, we, as Canadians, could do much better, but such is the general tenor & malaise of modern life which brings us to eat these very, very mid chips.
