Small space, big on personality & flavor. Jackson is the GOAT & we loved that he was ready to toss the menu to the side & help us select drinks based on a conversation about our preferences. We went to another very highly ranked'no menu' bar in town & found their drink discussion process to be very sanitized compared to Jackson sharing his personal tastes & recommendations & laughing with us-we much preferred this kind of personalized, intimate service! Plus the drinks themselves are great, so it's a win all around!

Amazing place. Super friendly & great cocktails. We came here back to back night & both Jackson & Tristan were amazing bartenders...check this place out.
My cousins & I came here & had the best time!! It's the smallest bar in Canada with great rum drinks. Jackson the bartender has such a great vibe & made the whole experience!

I went to El Pequeno in Montreal with friends to celebrate a birthday on July the 19th 2025. What was meant to be a joyful evening quickly turned uncomfortable due to the actions of one of the servers.
When we sang happy birthday to my friend, the server insisted on singing alone a modified version of'Happy Birthday':'Happy birthday to you, you belong to the zoo, you look like a monkey…'
Given that everyone at our table was Black, this version of the song felt deeply inappropriate & offensive. I called it out immediately, but there was no accountability, no apology, & no corrective action from this server. He brushed it off insisting it was a joke & that he didn't care...
The lack of follow-up from the owner only made matters worse, as if such behavior was acceptable in his establishment…
We will eventually not be returning. I'm sharing this experience so others are aware of the kind of treatment they might receive in this establishment.
Wandering around the streets of Montreal we stumbled upon this little gem. Jackson invited in & told us all about the place. We aren't (or weren't) rum drinkers. Jackson asked us what we usually drink & he fixed two amazing cocktails.
He was a great host we wound up coming back the next three nights in a row. Meeting new visitors each night. A fun & cozy must stop for anyone that enjoys a good cocktail & fun conversations.
Best experience at any old port bar ❤? had a blast & a sweet & sour drink that just 🥰… Jackson was super attentive & gave me the whole experience (including a bit of the bar's history). Definitely coming back soon !

Chouette petit (mini) bar, qui rappelle les bars de quartier en Europe où tout le monde se rassemble à l'extérieur pour profiter de la soirée. Par contre, les régulations de montréal nous empêche de sortir avec notre breuvage, mais l'employé nous a informé qu'une terrasse allait être installée prochainement. Le prix des cocktail était abordable pour le vieux port.
Jackson was beyond the standard of fabulous. This warm & inviting tiny bar serves fabulous rum-based drinks to kick the night off with a bang. Jackson's mannerisms, story telling, & whimsical skill set with the shaker will leave you wanting to come back every weekend. El Pequeno has immersed all guests in creating lasting & personable memories with other bar patrons to last a lifetime. Thank you, Jackson, for creating the most hospital & enchanting environment!
We were shown fanastic hospitality in this very quaint bar in the old port. The mixologist (Jackson) behind the bar was incredibly knowledgeable & created the best cocktails ive ever had. (try his spin on the mai tai). while it might be the smallest bar in canada, Jackson created the best memories on our night out, & we will be anxiously waiting to return & sit at his bar the next time we can.
Well, I went with my friend & to be sincère it was an amazing expérience with Tristan. He made us a spécial mojito & special daiquiris. Best expérience 👌🙌 Recommended
