Found this place as it was close by, ratings were good & the family was cold & hungry! Very humble & clean place. Looks like they do more take out than dine in. You order at the cash as there's no real table service but the cashier was helpful & brought things over. We ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken, the Rosa penne with shrimp, El Blanco fettuccine & a burger.
Pro: son forgot to add cheese & pickles in his order & they threw it in for free ♥?
Con: pasta sauce was ok. Creamy, but not cheesy & lacked depth of flavour. A hit of lemon could help. Also, adding green onions to the pasta dishes is weird & did not complement the dish. I get the'green' but that's what parsley is for.
Next time when ordering: be sure to ask what's in the salad or burger. Nothing on the menu said the salad would contain tomatoes (in a Caesar?) or olives, & that the burger is made with mayo in it.
I can see why it's a good place for students & it's community needing a a hot decent meal at a good price.
The pasta was really good & very well priced. Takeaway service was smooth & fast. What stood out most was how attentive the staff were - they genuinely cared about my allergy, listened carefully, & made sure everything was handled properly. That level of care makes a big difference.

Thank you to the manager Rocky who served us at 10:30pm. She was super sweet & gave us the warmest of welcomes. The food was amazing & the price was so good you could've sworn you were outside of Montreal. 10/10 would recommend to anyone !!!!
A small, cozy Italian restaurant. Had the daily special, spaghetti alla carbonara. It took a bit longer to be served than I expected, having picked the daily special, but not an unreasonable length of time. But it was definitely worth the wait, the pasta was among the tastiest I've ever had. The staff was also very nice, & prices were reasonable. Definitely recommend this place for a dinner if you're in the area
This place offers great portions for the price. I usually order the same pasta flavor, but it's really tasty.
The flavor is pleasant, & the atmosphere is okay, although I usually order delivery rather than eat there. But if you're in the area & want to save money while eating well, this could be a good option.

From the moment we decided to give this spot a try, everything about the experience exceeded our expectations. Whether you're a fan of authentic Italian cuisine or simply looking for a cozy, satisfying meal, El Pastaman is guaranteed to impress. We ordered two classic dishes-Alfredo pasta & Carbonara-& both were absolutely divine. The Alfredo pasta was creamy, rich, & perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sauce coating the fresh, perfectly cooked pasta. The flavors were indulgent yet comforting, a hallmark of great Italian cooking. On the other hand, the Carbonara was equally amazing, with a deliciously creamy texture & a rich, smoky flavor from the pancetta that elevated the dish to another level. Every bite was a reminder of why classic Italian dishes never go out of style. The portions were more than generous, which made the experience even better. For the price, the quantity & quality were exceptional, making it one of the best value-for-money meals I've had in a long time. Despite being a takeout order, the food was well-packaged & retained its freshness & flavor by the time we got home. One of the standout moments of the experience was the incredible customer service. The staff were welcoming & went out of their way to make us feel special. The person who handled our order was genuinely kind & thoughtful, even surprising us with a complimentary tiramisu. It's rare to find such gestures these days, & it truly made the experience memorable. Speaking of the tiramisu, it was absolutely perfect. You could tell it was made fresh & with authentic ingredients. The layers of mascarpone, coffee-soaked ladyfingers, & cocoa were beautifully balanced, & the dessert wasn't overly sweet-just the way it should be. It had a unique flavor profile that felt traditional yet special, showcasing the skill & care that El Pastaman puts into its food. To top it off, the meal came with freshly baked bread that paired wonderfully with the pasta & added an extra layer of satisfaction to the meal. We enjoyed every single aspect of our takeout order, from the savory pasta to the sweet tiramisu. El Pastaman is more than just a restaurant-it's an experience that embodies the heart & soul of Italian cuisine. The combination of incredible food, generous portions, & outstanding customer service makes this a place you'll want to return to again & again. I already know I'll be back the next time I'm in Montreal, & I'll be recommending it to everyone I know. Fast restaurant ,ambience is nice & all the food was fairly good with good price & i got best service the girl is educated & kind ! I recommend & i can't wait to come back :)
Delicious menu, fresh ingredients, generous portions & great service while the prices are fair. Simple yet comfortable setting, great for family with kids. We will come back for sure. Recommended:)
Amazing restaurant, wonderful service from staff. Very reasonable portions for the price & lovely ambience. Would certainly go back there even craving pasta again!

Always tried as takeout on Uber so wanted to test it out in person, it does look like the place is mostly take out oriented so don't expect a restaurant experience. Bummed since the price is quite high for what it is, portions are generous & food is tasty but not authentic Italian, I'd say more a fast food approach to it. If you want something easy is not a bad place but at that price range there are better spots.
