Review Summary

Across the reviews El Mida is described as a warm welcoming Tunisian dining spot with generous portions, flavorful Mediterranean and Tunisian dishes, and friendly, attentive service often paired with an inviting homey vibe and authentic ambiance. Diners praise the bread, the variety of dishes such as ojja, merguez, seafood pasta, brik, mechouia, and salads, and the generous portions that can feed more than one. The karaoke nights stand out as memorable experiences, adding to a lively atmosphere, though some mentions of occasional delays and uneven pacing suggest service can vary. Value is a recurring theme; portions are huge and prices sometimes higher, but many feel the quality and portion size justify it, while a few feel the price is steep for the experience. Several comments highlight authentic Tunisian hospitality and a family friendly or festive vibe, with customers coming from different countries planning returns, and some say the restaurant feels like a home away from home. Overall El Mida is depicted as a standout Mediterranean and Tunisian dining option in Montreal, with strong praise for flavor, portions and atmosphere, paired with some notes for potential improvements in service consistency and recipe tweaks.

Such an incredible restaurant! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice & the servers was so friendly & knowledgeable. We really wish they had a location in Toronto! The tabouna, & Tunisian trio salads were such a great start to our meal with the brik. The moloukhia & seafood ojja were *chefs kiss*. My brother enjoyed the lamb couscous & said the lamb was cooked perfectly & his gf loved the seafood pasta! Whenever we return to Montreal, we will be at El Mida. But please open up in Toronto. People will love it even if they aren't Tunisian (trust me)!

A Mexican friend & I used to work at the same company in Tunis & we used to go out in group for culinary experiences across the capital. Years fast forward, we both happen to be in Montréal so I wanted her to experience Tunisian food again & I wanted her family to experience it for the first time. El mida did not dissapoint at all! The food was good in terms of taste & quantity. I specifically loved their merguez & I really liked the quality of the seafood they used in the pasta. My Mexican friend was super happy & her family as well. The staff were really happy that my friend lived in Tunisia & they were extra good to us thanks to that. I highly recommend this place.

I was there on Saturday after I searched for a nearby restaurant. After trying to find the place because the sign was not very clear. The big sign has Cocoa 70 something & Elmida sign was very small. It was one the best places I visited in Montreal for years.
Excellent service , real authentic Tunisian food & very nice place. Good food portions with Freshly baked bread.
I wish if we have one in GTA Toronto
