Restaurant Mexicain authentique installé juste en face du canal Lachine, dans une vieille maison de briques du Vieux-Lachine vous réservent un accueil chaleureux et familial. Ça fait déjà plusieurs années que cette perle rare mexicaine vous sert ses recettes secrètes de famille. Ils ont débutés timidement il y a des années à Dorval pour ceux qui se souviennent, et c’est grâce à des clients satisfaits que ce restaurant mexicain s’est fait un nom et qu’aujourd’hui El Meson se classe parmi les meilleurs restos latins à Montréal.
Ne vous y trompez pas ! Vous êtes ici pour déguster et savourer les fins mets du Mexique. Alors oubliez vos préjugés des restaurants mexicains festifs qui proposent toujours les mêmes plats américanisés. It is a hot day. We came in for drink & food. Ordered taco roll & fajitas. The avocado sauce is wonderful! Lemonades are cold! The extra bread/pita is hot & tasty. Surprise!

Atmosphère mexicaine. Une sangria 👌Un Ceviche délicieux en portion généreuse, un Queso fundido champignons & cactus & des tacos bien évidemment

Personnel accueillant. La qualité des plats est à souligner ainsi que le service de Samuel. J'ai hâte d'y retourne

Amazing food, great portion size. We tried Enchiladas, chiles Rellenos both veg & Chicken Tacos. All of them were amazing. We tried the Harchhata & Jamaica drink. It was nice as well. Great ambience & the server was very nice too. A different vibe whole together. Would definitely recommend.

Been a customer since 2017. This is a destination every time we travel to Montreal.
2017 - Fantastic little find! Attentive, friendly, tri-lingual staff. Great views of the river & park if you can sit on the terrace. Great portion sizes, priced well. Don't forget the Sangria!
2025 - Sangria is still excellent. The cactus & sausage in the queso was very good, providing a different, lighter taste.
She had the tacos & I had the carne asada. We recommend anything on the menu.

C'est fini Taco Bell. Merci de m'avoir fait découvrir la vraie cuisine mexicaine. Tout était délicieux. Maintenant j'aime la cuisine mexicaine. PS: c'était trop tard pour prendre des photos

I've visited this place twice for the lunch menu, trying out the tacos & a margarita, & I must say, both the food & experience were fantastic! It's such a lovely spot to enjoy with friends & family or to treat yourself!

We were looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant while a quaint atmosphere. We got exactly that!! So good!! We were 2 couples & ironically we each ordered the same two dishes., Chicken Tacos & the Carne Asada (?)- Steak & Cactis! The Steak & Catcus I had no choice as a friend had said" You have To Try It!" & no regrets, the Steak was cooked perfectly, medium rare & the cactus & sauce was delicious. The meal was deceiving large, I managed to eat it all! The tacos were not severed how you know the/open face if you will but rather came closed on top, the ladies loved them! We had several drinks with the meal, Margaritas & a tequila Sunrise, these too were excellent! We even managed to share some dessert, a three milk cake & a flan & once again, no regrets! The staff were super attentive & per couple were in for under $100 before tip! The restaurant is a converted house, which adds to the charm, it is cozy but not intimate. If you decide to go, make a reservation to avoid disappointment as there are not that many gables available. Cheers

In desperate need to book a restaurant at the last minute, I called El Meson & asked to reserve a table for 8 people on that same day. The lady on the phone was super 🌟 She was very understanding & helpful. I was able to reserve for 8 people last night for my partner's 26th birthday celebration 🎂 Given that we were 8 people, I thought the food will take time to come in, but our plates started coming in very shortly after we ordered our meals... Everyone in our table had nothing but good things to say about the food. The portions were more than enough!!! Our friends said that the Carne Asada was cooked to perfection 👌🏽 My other friends enjoyed their Beef & Chicken tacos 🌮 My partner liked his Pollo Barbacoa 🍗 My Chicken Fajita was sizzling when it came to our table that one of my friends even commented & said that he also wishes that his food came in with sound effects 🔥 Also, their secret hot sauce was so good that we wanted to buy a whole bottle of it 😆 The service was quite fast, our primary waiter, Senor Roberto, was quite patient with all our requests & was kind enough to help us clean the table when one of our friends accidentally poured his water on the table. All in all, we had AN AMAZING experience at El Meson & hoping to come back soon!!! 🙏🏽 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE LOOKING TO TRY AUTHENTIC & DELICIOUS TASTING MEXICAN FOODS ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Ordered guacamole as an appetizer to share with pico de gallo on the side (they will bring you more chips if you run out!), it was fresh & delicious! Had the tacos as the main dish, was very good! Authentic Mexican cuisine, extremely friendly staff & they often checked on us to see how we were liking things. 10/10

Went for lunch. The menu had good choices, not too expensive. I took the chicken tacos with a tortilla soup & coffee.
The soup was alright but not great & the 2 chicken tacos were served with a small portion of refried beans, rice & some salsa. Everything was bland, nothing really tasty. It lacked chillies, fresh coriander, fresh lemon & some onions.
Even their coffee was so so.
The service was very friendly though.

Food was delicious, service prompt. We were the four of us two ordered stuffed peppers, one had fajitas & I had a Mexican steak. The sides of rice, refried beans & a chicken taco (not actually a taco but similar but can't recall the name) were all very good. The only slight negative is that the place was quite warm likely since it was a very warm night & although the AC was on, the doors & windows were open. All in all, we enjoyed the evening.
