Went to Eggstatic for suhoor. It was an exeptional experience. The atmosphere was festive yet calm. We ordered the chef's favorite Muhamara dip, eggstatic steak n egg & Fahsa. All three items were flavorful. The dip was too good! 👌🏼
The waitress was super nice. Service was fast enough. Highly recommend this place & would love to visit again on regular hours.
We arrived at 12:30 & were seated promptly, I don't usually leave negative reviews & often assume it's just an off day, but after reading other reviews, it seems this is an ongoing issue.
To start, we sat for about 15 minutes without water or menus, & my husband had to go ask for them twice for menus After finally receiving them, we reviewed the menu & placed our order as soon as our server returned, concerned it might take a while for them to come back again. We ordered coffee, milk for our son, & an iced matcha latte. The coffee & milk arrived after about 10 minutes , but the matcha latte never came - no milk or cream for coffee so my husband drank it black. & we didn't mention it, not wanting to add to their workload.
The biggest issue was the wait for food. We waited approximately 1 hour & 30 minutes. Our son's pancakes arrived at 1:47, about 10-15 minutes before the rest of the meals. When our food finally came, it was barely warm. After such a long wait, we expected hot, fresh dishes.
We also noticed that other tables who arrived well after us were receiving their food before us. However, even then, their entire table wasn't served at the same time.. only 2 out of 6 people received their meals while the others continued waiting. This showed that the issue wasn't just delays, but overall disorganization in how food was being prepared & served.
I ordered the fried chicken Benedict with spicy hot sauce on the side, which was missing & had to be requested afterward. Based on the temperature & overall quality, I would rate it around 6/10-the hash browns were barely warm. My other son ordered the Tomato Jacket, which didn't resemble what was described on the menu & was very disappointing 2/10 It didn't look appetizing at all. I felt really bad for him. My husband had the steak & eggs, which he said was just okay, around a 6.5/10.
When our food arrived, we didn't even have utensils.
Overall, the service felt very disorganized. We had a different server each time someone came to our table, & no one seemed to be assigned specific sections. There was very little communication or follow-up throughout our visit, which made the experience more frustrating.
It seems like a management issue rather than just a busy day. Some suggestions that could improve the experience:
• Assign servers to specific sections for better accountability
• Have basic items like water, menus, & utensils ready for quick service
• Consider adding QR codes at tables as a backup for menus
• Ensure better coordination in the kitchen so food is served together & hot
• Hire & train staff who are engaged & attentive to customers
I really wanted to like this place, especially as a halal brunch option, & I genuinely hope they succeed. Based on other reviews, this appears to be an ongoing problem. I'm not looking for a response-just for these issues to be addressed & improved.
*no menus given when seated. Atter 15 minutes, I had to tell the waiter to bring us some
*all of my family orders came seperately
(my kid finished his pancakes berore we got to eat our order)
Quality of food was not bad, but definitely doesn't match the price of them nor the service.
The food was cold, not very tasty & dry. In the crispy chicken benedict, the eggs were cooked through, there wasn't enough hollandaise sauce & the potatoes were bland. Also, the service was very slow. I wouldn't recommend.
j'ai trop aimé!! la serveuse Yasmine était super gentille & accueillante & les repas étaient su-ccu-lents!! c'était aussi super beau on a pris de belles photos. je recommande vraiment pour un beau brunch
We went to Ecstatic Restaurant for Suhoor & had a mixed experience.
It took 1 hour & 5 minutes to receive our plates, which is quite long - especially during Suhoor when timing is important. There were also a couple of mistakes with our order. We asked for multigrain bread but were served white bread instead, & the white bread was dry, almost as if it had been toasted & left aside. The potatoes on the plate seemed dry & not very fresh, & the sunny-side-up eggs looked like they may have been sitting before being served. I had the steak, which was okay, but overall the plate felt that it was put aside & lost it's freshness.
That said, Zainab, our waitress, was excellent - kind, professional, & clearly doing her best. She was the only waitress handling a full crowd, with just one chef & one bus girl supporting. The issue seemed to be understaffing rather than lack of effort. Because of her service, we still left an 18% tip.
Based on the food & wait time alone, this would have been a one-star experience. However, because of Zainab's service & attitude, I'm giving three stars.
This place has potential, but better staffing & kitchen coordination - especially during busy Suhoor nights - would make a big difference.
Loved our meal here & our server was was very friendly. Can't recommend more
upsetting experience, a lot of the items in the menu were unavailable. also the wait time is horrendous, it's a shame because i really liked their food.
We visited & was told that they were closed. Doors were open & there was actually someone dining when we got there. Very disappointed. We were visiting the city for the first time so this really made for a bad experience since we chose this place out of all the places in the city.
It's a very good brunch place. Food is nice, atmosphere is very good. However, it's nothing special just a regular brunch place. Recommend
Atmosphere is ok. Waiters are super friendly & awesome. Food is terrible. As a sous chef I strongly recommend changing cooking techniques or the cook themselves
I had tried this restaurant in Toronto & was okay & came back here with high hopes but they went down extremely fast when I was served grilled cheese that wasn't even grilled & cheese that wasn't melted
The kitchen & chef people shoudl be questioned because food was extremely low in quality & taste
Waiter was extremely sweet
We waited nearly an hour for eggs, a dish that should take minutes. When the food finally arrived, everyones eggs were over cooked. The overall food quality was pretty poor, & the service was virtually non-existent.
Amazing experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding & every dish was perfectly seasoned & full of flavor. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. A must-try - I'll definitely be going back.
Compared to Toronto, this is the dollar store version of it, the matcha was genuinely mediocre & everything is so pricey for poor quality meals. Also it took almost 90 minutes before receiving our food. Definitely my last time coming here, I wish the the best
