About us
East Pan-Asian Restaurant serves cuisine in a modern and eclectic decor reminiscent in some details of the effervescent days of old Shanghai.
Born from a very personal approach by owner restaurateurs, the concept of the East was developed with the intention of introducing customers to favorite dishes. Each dish on the menu is distinguished by its flavor and history depending on its country of origin. All lovers of Asian cuisine will be happy to remember them or simply discover them for the first time.
The East is also the perfect place to gather with friends and work colleagues after a busy day to enjoy a cocktail menu that invites travel. Developed by Lawrence Picard, the menu offers classics and creations with an “Old Shanghai” touch.
Also being the restaurant of the Renaissance Montreal Hotel, the East offers hearty breakfasts (traditional and a selection of Dim Sum) every day of the week.

Très bonne expérience grâce à Montréal à table. Nous sommes étudiants & donc très contents d'avoir pu goûter des plats de cette qualité pour un prix abordable. Seul bémol, une réduction de -50% sur le vin nous avait été annoncée en début de repas mais seulement au moment du paiement nous avons appris que c'était seulement sur la bouteille. My partner & I attended the MTLàTBL event, guessing the staff saw in my face I wasn't 100% satisfied with the menu choice, telling me their regular choices were much better. I might give them a try another time. The service was top notch! 👍🏼 Everyone there made us feel comfortable. 😊View more

Nous avons visité ce restaurant dans le cadre de montréal à table (trois services pour 35$). Nous avons eu la surprise sur place d'apprendre que les vins étaient à 50% ! WOW, ce fut une expérience incroyable. La nourriture est succulente & Les portions sont généreuses (le cari notamment donne un beau lunch pour le lendemain tellement c'est énorme). Nous y retournerons certainement dans le futur.View more

We went to this restaurant during the "Montréal à Table" event where there's a fixed-price menu with a few good selections. I had the Karaage appetizer with the panko crusted salmon as the main, & a piece of taro cheesecake as the dessert. All of the food was excellent, & service was very quick. I think we only waited (at most) 10 minutes for every course to arrive. The atmosphere was pretty noisy as it was super busy, but there's not much one can do about that. Overall, it was great & I would definitely return again.View more

I ordered drunken noodles & requested some of the hot oil on side. When that wasn't an option (for some reason), I asked if they could add a little heat to the dish in the kitchen. I'm guessing that this pissed off the cook or the bar tender taking my order because when my meal came out it wasn't a little hot, it was dangerously hot. There is no way that the amount of spice added could have been a mistake in the preparation of the dish. The food was purposely made into something extremely painful to eat & I like spicy food & eat it routinely. I forced it down because it was getting late & I was starving. Now I'm paying the price & have time to right this review sitting down. While the flavor was good I wouldn't recommend any special requests to your order at this restaurant as someone apparently doesn't like them & may find a way to take it out on the patron.View more

This is a large restaurant inside a hotel in the heart of Downtown Montreal. My issue with it was the slow service, & the fact that it lacked any kind of authenticity. The food wasn't bad, but everything lacked a kick (catering to their white clientele). The portions are large & the proteins were actually cooked well (general tsa's chicken main, beef skewer appetizer, panko-crusted salmon & beef pad see ew) but it took over 45 mins to take our drinks order, the appetizers arrived before the drinks, they didn't give us any sharing plates or utensils & the waiters disappear before you can ask for anything so I just grabbed them myself. The desserts weren't good so you can avoid (taro cheesecake had a weird taste & the "panna cotta"... was just so unappetizing). I went for MtlàTable so the menu was decently priced at $35 but I would not return or recommend this restaurant.View more

We saw the ad on their window for $1 oysters & stopped in. We both love shooters & the deal was great. The oysters come either in 6 or 12 at a time. We started with 6 just to be sure that the oysters were good. They were so we quickly ordered 6 more. The oysters were smaller like a west coast variety but had the brininess of an east coast variety. They were delicious. The buck a shuck only covered a maximum of 12 though. We were a little surprised by the $12 beers but the oyster deal made it worth it.View more
