We were at Dunn's on Décarie boulevard, during this week around 2pm. The smoked meat lean was very good. The portion of the "Petit Combo" is getting smaller & smaller but it tastes very good as usual. The fries portion was huge but the fries were cold, not even warm. The service was adequate & waitress was pleasant. The cheesecake was OK but not the cheesecake Dunn's was famous for! they must have changed the recipe or used a very salty creme cheese, because the cheese cake was slightly salty, something we never tasted before & we did not like. We will return, but next time we go, we'll just order the smoked meat which is always good, but no more cheesecake.
Never going back! My $20 smoked meat sandwich had 4 slices in it, & although I asked for lean, half of it was fat! When I pointed it out to our waitress, she just took it back to the kitchen, came back, shrugged & said "the chef says it's lean". This location has definitely lost the quality we were used to at Dunns. Quite sad.
Phenomenal food - the Reuben Sandwich is the best anywhere. The food is all prepared fresh, delicious, & fast. Fast service. I've been here several times & rarely do the servers come to check with the custumer after the food has arrived. Phenomenally delicious food, good list of beverages, & amazing desserts. Dunn's is definitely a huge hit & is extremely busy on Friday & Saturday nights. I rate Dunn's 4.5 out of 5 mustaches.
World famous, right.... Sure buddy. Smoked meat was bland, even with the medium fat option. Baked potato was a joke, no salt no butter. They don't really care about the food. Literally drive 2 blocks, cage or baton rouge are a much better option than this place
We came from Toronto for a wedding decided to give this restaurant a try ! Food was amazing, very clean, fast service we were so hungry so that worked out ! we had a great time with our server until the end of the visit, the bills came & she forgot one of couples bills. I went ahead to pay for my bill & the waitress had the audacity to tell me "really ?! You only gave me that, when you picked the options you could have atleast gave me %15 that's what your supposed to give" while pointing at the bill tip amt. she told me as if I came from another world. I rounded up the total with the tip & planned on leaving the rest cash with the rest of the group. She then went on to say that it wasn't enough & that I should of left atleast %15 as per the lowest option allowed other than "other" I was so shocked at what she had said. She said "you should have given me atleast $20 tip & I was just looking at her flabbergasted, as this was totally uncalled for & didn't look good on her part. She then proceeded to see my sister laws bill print out & say "& this one didn't even give me anything" again, shocked! my sister in law replied with look at the table the tip is right there... very bad customer experience at this point & didn't deserve anything anymore ! WHO SAYS THAT ? I replied back to her with in Toronto we can leave what we would like too. Our group of 6 was so disgusted & disappointed with this behaviour after such a good experience that it left a bad taste in our mouth. She then aggressively grabbed the debit machine & then cash & walked away. Rude, unacceptable,unappreciative,unprofessional. We would not return based on this response from the waitress. IN TORONTO THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN ! The nerve to complain about your tip when we are not even finished paying & leaving.
Great smoke meat. Food is very authentic, as I remembered back in the years. Fried pickles were a good surprise. Service is a little bit slow, but waiters are very friendly. The atmosphere is very cozy, but depending on the hours the guests can be a little loud
