Overall - excellent. Served with a smile & willing to do the little extras to make it a great experience
We had a reservation for 6. Walked in & were seated right away by a smiling waitress. This was a birthday party & we were 6 people. All the orders came at the same time. We weren't rushed & the service was great. I had the fish & chips. The fish was perfect the coleslaw was very good. The chips unfortunately, were way to salty. We went upstairs to listen to the gentleman performing- he was good. We did not have to order drinks to stay & were at the pub for about 4 hours. - excellent staff & atmosphere
Not the first time we have been here, but this is the first time we were disappointed. Things started off on the wrong foot when we were told that two of the three specials were not available. Not a good sign. We did, however, have our hearts set on the brisket sandwich. Guess what? That was an unavailable choice as well. At that point I was about ready to leave but since we already had drinks we settled for the fish & chips. Now I know people rave about them but Sunday evening they were less than hot & the accompanying fries while slightly warmer were mushy as if they had been sitting for some time.
On a brighter note the service was pleasant & quick & the Habs game was on. I think next time we want a meal out we will find somewhere else to go.
Duke & Devine's is a neighbourhood gem - a true pub in both style & menu. There's a great selection of beer on tap featuring local favourites, Canadian brews, as well as German & American options. I've been going there for several years & the food is consistently good. The staff is young, friendly & the service is always quick & attentive. The fish taco's are my usual go to, but the burgers & sandwiches are also very good.
This is casual dinning exactly as you would expect it to be. It's a fun place to go for a beer & pub food. It's the kind of place that keeps you coming back.
I took my mother for dinner Friday night & we sat outside & listened to Shinebox, whose music was great. The food, fish & chips for her & the Sammie something or other for me, the one with the fried chicken & lobster, were fantastic, as were the french fries & soup du jour, cream of mushroom. But, the most impressive & satisfying thing about our evening was the staff, all of them, but especially our waitress, were fantastic.
Not only were they friendly but they were super efficient & took good care of their customers. Too often, service is a let down in a lot of restaurants but the staff here were exceptional.
We hosted a private party at D&D & the experience was perfect from start to finish. The set-up with appetizer stations was exactly what I had in mind, & it created a great atmosphere for guests to mingle, eat, & drink throughout the evening. The food was excellent - as always, people were raving! The selection & quantities were spot-on: wings, nachos, crab dip, mini burgers, fish & steak tacos, sweet potato fries, fried chicken bites & the most delicious desserts. The two staff members were outstanding: great attitude, communicative, & totally on the ball. Everyone had a fantastic time, & I'm so happy I chose to host the party here.
We were served by a very nice waitress by the name of Taryn, who suggested some amazing food fair. We tried the soup of the day, which was a Cheddar Bacon & Jalapeno, & it was so delicious 😋. We also had the Fish & Chips that hit the OMG spot & the Brisket sandwich. It was a spirited dinner out & a guaranteed return & assured patronage to this pub. Bravo to all here 👏 & thank you.
