Overall a great dining experience, staff speaks Spanish. It's more of a homemade sit down Chinese / Peruvian food. Big portions family can share. Balanced flavors! The young chown fried rice was 🔥!
Would return/recommend!
Love it! One of the only places in Montreal where you can get peruvian-chinese'chifa'. Will drive there just for their Kamlu Wantan & Chi Jau Kay!
I can't believe how good this place is. They are a bit of a mix of Peruvian & Chinese, but they have thai & vietnamese food as well.
Everything is baseline'good'. We had the hunan dumplings, shanghai noodles & soo gai chicken. Only complaint is they use north american broccoli in the noodles. That's it.
The soo gai was crispy, reasonably battered, & tender. The cherry sauce was real deal: runny & strongly flavoured, way more tart than usual. Excellent.
The dumplings were great. Sauce was very thick, but nicely flavoured. They were a little less substantial than other places, but they were fresh & tasty.
I really liked this place, & the locals apparently do too cuz the place was packed, & only one table was chinese clients. The rest were mexican, peruvian or salvadori. & the staff, while thoroughly chinese, speak Spanish.
That's Jean Talon for ya
Very delicious Peruvian Chinese food! I move far from Jean Talon, but when I have the opportunity I go to there to take out a huge meal for 2 or 3 people. Delicious & clean!
I love this restaurant & its Chinese-Peruvian food. It's like to be in Peru.
It's not the most elegant of restaurants but it's clean, food is good & portions are very generous. In Quebec most people are used to Chinese buffet style food. Le Dragon Manifique is definitely not in this style. This is a "Chifa", It's roots come from Peru South America (hence the largely Latino clientele) There is an extremely large & established Chinese community in Peru. The best Chinese food I have ever eaten was in Peru. So leave your preconceptions about what Chinese food in Quebec is usually like & give them a try. I recommend the arroz chaufa, tallarin saltado con pollo, sopa wantan, Kam lu Wantan & of course a bottle of Inca kola to wash it all down. If each person takes a sopa (soup) Wantan & share one plate of each you are good to feed at least 4-5 adults.
