Visited Dera Restaurant in Montreal with my family. Coming from NY, there's a lot of different restaurants to try & I was interested to see how this local Pakistani restaurant would measure up.

We ordered the chicken Reshmi kebab, beef & chicken boti kebabs, beef biryani, shrimp tandoori & fish pakora. The food was seasoned as expected of Pakistani cuisine.

Some downsides- We ordered a shrimp biryani as well, but it came without any shrimp at all, so we had to returned to the kitchen since we were told it was in error. It never came back out to the floor after that.

We also had a negative encounter with the workers, who were not happy with where we wanted to sit with our large group of 13 people. The dining hall was empty, & we wanted to sit somewhere well lit but the workers were resistant, saying that they have to clean wherever we sat, which made no sense of we sat in the well lit area by the mirrors rather than where it was darker since....we were the only ones there? It didn't make much sense & set a sour tone for the evening.

The malai, mango, & pistachio kulfi however sweetened up our spirits! For my last dinner in Montréal, that ended it on a good note.

Yesterday while visiting Montréal from Toronto, After stunning visit to Mont Royale reached This Pakistani Restaurant, Authentic Ambience & great Food portion was good enough for 2, we ordered Boneless Chicken Karahi & Seekh Kababs. The owner of this restaurant Mr. Ilyas Shah was very courteous & chatted with us & didn't charged us anything.

I wouldn't leave a negative review for no reason, but the food here is horrible. We ordered for a group of twelve; almost all of us got sick within the same day. One ended up in the hospital with food poisoning & peeing blood (we had a five-hour drive back to our city & ended up spending the night at the hospital). The meat here seems to be either very old or not temperature-controlled. If you're ready to have explosive diarrhea, please feel free to consume the food here-you'll definitely have a blast! From the rear.

I had guests at home, ordered the food at 12, paid the food delivery fee, & i scheduled it to be received at 14:00 to 14:30. At 14:34, I called the restaurant & they are saying there is no driver, you call the driver to pick it up. Since I did not order from Uber Eats, my order was from the website, everything only shows the restaurant telephone number, not the driver number nor the Uber Eats. They are saying we can cancel if you want. Business does not work like this.

I rarely write reviews, but Dera Restaurant truly deserves one.

What impresses me the most is not only the amazing food but also their outstanding customer service. Every time I order through Uber Eats, there isn't an option to request their delicious spicy chili dip, which goes perfectly with their biryani. Whenever I call the restaurant to ask for it, they always go out of their way to help me. They never hesitate & always send it with such kindness & generosity. That level of care is becoming rare these days.

The food itself is simply exceptional. Whenever I'm feeling homesick or going through a difficult time, Dera's food has a way of bringing me comfort. It reminds me of the warmth of a meal cooked by my mother. It's not just about satisfying hunger-it's about the memories, love, honesty, & joy that come with every bite.

Many restaurants can fill your stomach, but Dera Restaurant fills your heart as well. Every meal feels like home, & honestly, even my soul feels satisfied after eating their food.

Thank you to the entire team at Dera Restaurant for your incredible food & genuine hospitality. Please continue the amazing work. Highly recommended to anyone looking for authentic food made with care & passion

We had a wonderful experience at Dera Restaurant! The biryani was absolutely delicious-full of authentic flavor & perfectly cooked. A special thank you to the pani puri stall outside the restaurant. The pani puri was fresh, tasty, & a perfect addition to our meal. Friendly service, great atmosphere, & amazing food. Highly recommended, & we'll definitely be back! 😊🍛🥣
