Very good experience. The food was delicious, fresh, & full of flavor. The service was honestly out of this world - 10/10. The staff were super kind, welcoming, & attentive. Highly recommend this place, I'll definitely be coming back!❤?
I recently visited DaWa Chicken in Plateau-Mont-Royal. While there were some definite highlights to the meal, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag due to service speed & one specific dish.
The Good
• Fried Chicken Combo: This was the star of the show! The chicken was perfectly crispy & flavorful. We really enjoyed the variety of sauces & the crunch.
• Korean Rice Cakes (Tteokbokki): These came with fish cakes & a generous layer of melted cheese on top. The texture was great & the flavors were spot on. Highly recommend these two!
The Bad
• Seafood Pancake: This was a major disappointment. It felt like it was rushed on high heat-the outside was overcooked/burnt while the inside remained raw & gooey. It wouldn't hold its shape & just fell apart when touched. Definitely wouldn't recommend ordering this.
The Service
• Wait Time: We waited about 40 minutes for our three courses to arrive. For a casual dinner, that felt significantly too slow, especially considering the kitchen timing issues with the pancake.
Final Verdict: Go for the chicken & the rice cakes, but maybe skip the pancakes & be prepared to wait a while for your food.

Nous avons tester ce restaurant pour le poulet frit. & nous n'avais pas du tout été déçues. Il était excellent.
Le service était parfait, très gentilles. On nous a même offert un plat de potatoes, absolument délicieuses.
Pas la plus grande fan de tteokbokki (d'habitude j'aime bien mais pas les meilleurs).
Je recommande totalement

The beer was so ice cold, & paired perfectly with chicken. The cream noodle was next level. Highly recommend! Everything we ordered was the best choice ever!!! I also loved the vibe here, cute deco & Kpop moody feels.
Our server was super friendly & welcoming us. She took great care of us from start to finish!!

We came here on a whim & it was a great decision!! The service was exceptional. We had the bestie combo (chicken), rose tteokboki & shrimp cream udon. Highly recommend the rose tteokboki as the sauce goes really well with the chicken. but everything else was also great. Would definitely recommend!
I've known about Dawa since 2022. Absolutely amazing korean fried chicken! You won't find this quality anywhere else. I moved to Ontario & I would still think about travelling back just to eat there. :)
I recommend their half/half & their fries are so so good. PLEASE NEVER CLOSE
First Timer.
Went there after a quick search on Google Maps.
No Dedicated Parking.
Place is nice, clean & cosy.
Staffs were welcoming & friendly.
As for food, we ordered a combo platter for 2-3 person & really wanted to taste the truffle flavoured one.
We were two & it was so much & couldn't even eat half of what we ordered & had to take out.
They were all really good but I expected them to be better though. The chicken seems same it's just the sauces that are different & can be too much I personally think.
But I was really disappointed with the truffle one unfortunately. I didn't get a hint of truffle & it cost more than the others I think.
Overall I would recommend 💯 It's a matter of personal preferences. Not the truffle though 👎

I only popped in here to kill time before a dinner reservation nearby. Meaning, I wasn't planning to eat, just drink a little, but we got a golden fried chicken combo to split & ate ALL OF IT. This is a very legit Korean fried chicken!
It reminded me of local hole-in-the-wall'chimek' spots in Korea -'chimek' stands for chicken & beer ('mekju'). Plenty of soju & magkeolli options (get the peach if unfamiliar). Very good & very nostalgic.
Would recommend coming here & getting comfortably wasted with friends! Or, just come get their amazing Korean fried chicken
