DaWa Chicken specializes in authentic Korean fried chicken, emphasizing a signature double-frying technique that ensures an exceptionally crispy, thin crust while maintaining succulent meat. The menu features a diverse selection of house-made sauces ranging from traditional sweet and spicy gochujang glazes to savory soy garlic marinades that coat every piece uniformly. Each order is prepared fresh, highlighting the contrast between the crunchy exterior and tender interior that defines this culinary style. Beyond the core poultry offerings, the selection includes complementary sides such as pickled radishes designed to balance the richness of the fried proteins. The environment focuses on functionality and efficiency, prioritizing the delivery of hot, flavor-packed dishes for casual consumption. This establishment serves as a dedicated destination for enthusiasts seeking precise Korean preparation methods and consistent flavor profiles in a streamlined, modern setting.
DaWa Chicken is widely celebrated as one of the best spots in Montreal for Korean fried chicken, consistently praised for its crispy, juicy texture and flavorful sauces. Diners frequently highlight the generous portion sizes, the quality of sides like tteokbokki and seasoned fries, and the exceptionally welcoming, attentive, and accommodating service. While the atmosphere is described as modest or compact, the clean and friendly environment makes it a popular destination for both dine-in and takeout. Although there are occasional mentions of waiting times and minor concerns regarding consistency, the overwhelming majority of experiences are positive, with many customers planning return visits for what they consider a standout culinary experience.
Excellent restaurant!
The food here is absolutely fantastic-crispy, juicy, & packed with flavor. We orderered the bone-in chicken & the Teokbokki. On top of that, the staff is incredibly nice, welcoming, & attentive. Great food & excellent service are a winning combination. Highly recommend Dawa Fried Chicken!

For our first visit, we asked the staff for recommendations & they did not disappoint! The team was super friendly & happily guided us toward their signature chicken platter. We ordered the half-&-half: one side was glazed in a tangy, sweet-spicy sauce (though fair warning as Mexican, it's more flavorful than fiery), while the other side was simply fried with aromatic spices. Both halves were incredibly tender, crispy, & packed with flavor. The plain fried half also came with a tasty honey-mustard-style dipping sauce on the side.
We also ordered the lemon chili fries, which were a true explosion of flavors & absolutely delicious.
Unfortunately, the'Mom's Spicy Tteokbokki' didn't quite hit the mark for me personally. That said, if I come back, & I definitely plan to, I'll be ordering that chicken & those fries again without hesitation. They were absolutely phenomenal.
The food taste amazing 5 stars 💫
The only issue I had is I have barely only nine pieces of chicken. & the nine one is barely skin. I was expecting 10 to 13 pieces as described. Thinking if I get 10 pieces it will be big one & if I get 13 pieces they will be average, but alas!
But taste good though, it's delicious!
