Went to Darna for date night last weekend & it is now one of our favourite new spots! The atmosphere is so comfortable & it is beautifully decorated. The cocktails & wine selection are amazing (the margarita aux fig is gorgeous), & our server (regretfully, I didn't catch his name) was very friendly, funny, & knowledgeable. He even brought over one of the wines I liked so I could take a photo. We did the tasting menu & every course was divine. Very happy we found Darna, highly recommend for any special occasion. Trés bon restaurant, avec une ambiance exceptionnelle! Je voulais réservé pour 9 personnes chose que le site ne me permettait pas, donc j'ai contacté le restaurant sur Instagram. On m'a répondu après une minute d'attente! & j'ai pu réservé sans problèmes. On a prit une table d'hôte & c'était un délice 👌🏼 Le staff est top & on a passé une excellente soirée avec un thé à la menthe offert à la fin c'était magnifique 😄 Je reviendrai certainement ici & je recommande fortement!View more

Quality of Ingredients was great. The food was not bad, just the recipes were mediocre. I had the falafel bowl. Falafel was a round chickpea fritter, it was not a proper falafel, the bowl had puffed amaranth in it mixed with the dressing, I think it was an attempt to make it different than a traditional bowl with Quinoa or Barley or other grains, but that didn't go well. On top of my greens & falafel, there were two poached eggs. So my green leafy salad was dripping with egg yolks. Why? Just why? Hard boiled eggs go better. My friend ordered Shakshouka & it looked alright & tasted alright. It is a cutesy place, it is good food for someone who doesn't know what real Mediterranean recipes on the menu taste like & someone who can't cook.View more

Went there for brunch on a Saturday morning. The place is cute & cosy, employees were all super nice & the food was amazing. Highly recommend the french toast (pain perdu) which was an absolute delight. Also the datte & rose Latte was chef's kiss. Shakshouka was good & well executed but not as exciting as the pain perdu.View more

One of my very favourite spots to eat in Montreal. I had the Merguez sausage plate with perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs (love the cardamom) & a mimosa my daughter had the Chicken Shawarma Salad & Date Cappuccino. Just delicious, clean, perfectly seasoned food all the time. Last year I was here for dinner & I still think about that meal it was sooo good. Je vous recommande fortement de réserver pour être certain d'avoir une table (L'établissement propose un terrasse en été sur Beaubien). Reviews are very misleading. The food was probably some of the worse food I've ever had in Montreal. Not sure if that night something was wrong, but all the dishes ordered werent good. The service however was very good. The hallomi was extremely overpriced. As someone who cooks homemade & knows the prices well, three tiny piece that were extremely dry was 18$. The octopus was not edible at all. In face we took one piece & didn't touch the rest, the waiter kept asking if we wanted to finish it, but we couldn't. It was so hard & no taste at all. The kefta was more dry then the Sahara dessert. Absolutely horrible. Ill keep it at that. I know the restaurant business is hard, but for what we paid for all that food that was really not great, I feel like I burned my money. Really disappointed.View more

We had a picnic box & falafel balls for twelve people on the weekend & everyone raved about the flavours. The spices & herbs in the small dishes (eggplant zaalouk, red pepper muhammarah) are out of this world good. Best falafel ever.
