About

Curry Mahal centers its culinary identity on the robust, spice-forward traditions of Northern Indian cooking. The menu features a diverse selection of clay-oven specialties, including tandoori meats and various types of freshly baked leavened bread. Guests encounter aromatic curries enriched with complex masala blends, highlighting the distinct flavor profiles of cumin, turmeric, and ginger. The interior reflects a focused approach to authentic cultural expression, utilizing traditional decor elements that emphasize a communal and grounded atmosphere. Each dish relies on precise heat management and careful layering of dry and wet spices to achieve consistency. The preparation emphasizes depth of flavor over excessive ornamentation, ensuring that the primary ingredients remain central to every plate. This establishment provides a straightforward and consistent experience for those seeking deep, traditional South Asian culinary techniques in a focused setting.

Review Summary

Curry Mahal is widely praised for its delicious and authentic dishes, ranging from flavorful biryani and tender lamb korma to popular items like butter chicken poutine. While the restaurant's minimalistic atmosphere may not impress everyone, patrons consistently highlight the generous portions, affordable pricing, and fast service. Although experiences with specific appetizers can vary, the overall consensus points to a reliable and highly recommended spot for consistent quality, especially for those seeking a variety of excellent vegetarian options.

Food is DELICIOUSSSSSS. Dont let the minimalistic appearance fool you. I had the shrimp curry, bread, rice, lentil soup & the BEST lamb KORMA. I ordered a second bowl of just the Korma sauce & ate it like a soup. Sooooo good. Was sweet yet mildly spicy with coconut. To die for. Must Try this place !!!

One bite into the food & you are sure, that you won't visit again. They probably add tomato ketchup in their sweet & spicy paneer gravy. Daal makhni was below average. Naan was okay.
Server was good though.
Edit: The washroom scared me (shady & dark af)

I ordered food home from Curry Mahal for 6 people who love butter chicken. It was the best we have all tasted to date. The sauce was spicy & delicious. We will just order from there, from now on. Not sure there will be better than that. Thank you Curry Mahal. One day we hope to dine in!

I am basing my review on delivery orders. I think I've ordered at least a dozen times now & have tried a few starters & appetizers. I've never had an issue with freshness or quality of food. I've ordered alone, with multiple friends & each time people are happy. The combos for 2 are quite generous (lots of protein in the gravies). Whereas most of my previous go-to spots either are so expensive now or I have had actual food quality issues, this place hits the spot. Can't speak on the inside of the restaurant. The paneer pakora are quite good as an appetizer. My only note (not a negative by any means) is that non-spicy option is already a bit spicy. If you go with spicy option, good luck to you!

Ordered dal tadka, mix vegetables & naan & rotis with vegetable biryani Vegetable biryani was too spicy for a mild & cauliflower in it was not cooked well. But the biggest showdown was they sent some pakoras instead of mixed vegetables so we just had to eat naan with dal tadka. The roti was mentioned whole wheat but was very different from its picture. Stay away from this place - pretty low level of customer satisfaction & no regrets on doing so apparently

My family & I ordered the tandoori chicken legs, garlic naan, shaahi paneer, & the very spicy chicken biryani. Everything arrived relatively quick & the staff were great. 10/10 overall experience!
