Visited this Thai restaurant on Sunday night, Parking was a hassle, & when we arrived at 8:00 PM, the place was empty, which almost made us leave. But we decided to stay & try it out.
We ordered fried pork belly, beef, & fried chicken salad. The pork belly was great, crispy with a tangy dipping sauce. The beef & chicken salad were not bad, both sweet & spicy but tasted pretty similar.
We also tried the mango sticky rice, which was very sweet - sweeter than what I had in Bangkok, with a lot of condensed milk. It seems this place leans toward a sweeter flavor profile.
The place feels more like a bar than a restaurant, with smaller portions that are better for sharing & having drinks. The inside had an odd smell, like it needed some maintenance, maybe sitting outside would be better?
Every dish was exceptionally delicious, starting with the housemade mignonette for the oysters, which was out of this world. The Pad Thai was amazing, boasting incredible flavor & the perfect level of spice. We also loved the skewers-both pork & chicken were juicy & flavorful.
Another highlight was the delicious sausage with coriander, which had a unique taste that we couldn't resist.
We were blown away by the wonderful & creative cocktails.
For dessert, the sticky rice with mango was superb. SUPERB. -we couldn't stop eating it, even whIile already completely full 😅
On top of the incredible food & drinks, the daily beer special ($2.75 for a 6-oz lager), & Wednesday's $1 oysters, made for fantastic deals.
Service was super fast & friendly, making the overall experience even better. We had a wonderful; we highly suggest you go!
I went with a friend late night & we got there about an hour before closing. The service was great everyone working there were friendly & the PAD THAI was really tasty def would go again
Usually you can't go wrong with Thai food ... but the papaya salad had a very strong fishy taste (beyond just the usual fish sauce), perhaps too many dried shrimps in it. We had meatballs, sausage, fried rice & the chicken satay skewers. Not too bad, but some of the dishes were salty.
Service was okay, nothing exceptional. But most upsetting is the non-compliance to the new Bill 72. The 15% tipping option was off the bottom line & not the'before tax'. Only realized after we walked out from looking at the bill because you barely have time to check the pinpad while its waiting for the payment card to be tapped. Had high expectations, but likely not returning.
