i came here last summer with my friends for 1$ oyster night & we ended up having a terrible experience. quick summary: the drinks tasted good & the food was mostly ok, the service was insanely slow, they clearly forgot about our oyster orders & ended up waiting over an hour & a half for them (they tasted really mid). our table felt'abandoned' at some point as our waiter never came back to ask us if we wanted more drinks or to give us more water during our long wait time. the service was so bad that eventually the owner got involved & we ended up getting free dessert.
last monday, we decided to give it another try as we knew that drinks were good & the food was ok + maybe the service was bad because they were too busy that night. i have over 6 years of experience in hospitality so i am very understanding of small things going wrong. this however, was not the case. i cannot think of single way to rationalize what happened on monday, so my only conclusion is that this restaurant is negligent.
we showed up around 4:42 pm. on google maps, it said the restaurant opened at 4. we tried opening the front door but it was locked. We ended up seeing a man behind the bar but he wouldn't look at us or open the door. we assumed that there might be a mistake on the restaurant might open at 5 so we started walking away. A man( the owner) exited a car & told us it is open .from my understanding, a lady accompanying him then unlocked the door for us to come in. weird…….
we sat down & were the only people in the restaurant. we were 3 people & were waiting for a 4th. we ordered drinks & a meal right away. it took about 10 minutes for us to receive two of the drinks (i watched the bartender behind the bar the whole time. looks like he was pretty unprepared for a restaurant that had supposedly been open for the past 40 minutes). the 3rd drink arrived separately a few minutes later. i ordered a 2nd drink which came quick. about 40-45 minutes went by until we received the first meal. my 4th friend arrived around this time & she ordered a sangria pitcher for the table & a snack for herself. multiple minutes went by before receiving the second plate of food & another multiple minutes went by before receiving the 3rd plate of food. all
the food tasted fine but we got no explanation or free compensation for waiting so long & getting all our meals separately.
the 4th friend also waited a ridiculous amount of time for her food to arrive. at this point, there was another table of 3, & 2 that had arrived. this was nowhere near a busy night. the waiter came to refill our glasses with sangria from our pitcher at some point & then disappeared to the kitchen. at 7:30 pm (the waiter had already abandoned us a while ago), i told my friends that i would be ready to leave & they all agreed to ask for the check the next time the waiter came in the dinning room. during this time, i went to the bathroom twice & saw our waiter standing in the doorway of the kitchen, completely ignoring the dining room. at about 8:05 pm, a table next to us had to get up to get the waiter in the kitchen. the waiter returned to their table with food in take out bags apologizing & saying that he wasn't charging certain items. clearly the service was not only poor for our table. we then took this opportunity to ask for our checks. we were able to pay at about 8:10 pm & we all tipped 15% because we felt bad about not tipping, which i deeply regret.
overall, i cannot understand how this could have happened on such a slow night. i don't understand why our server never came back to ask us if we wanted more drinks, give us more water or just come into the dinning room for us to be able to pay our bills. it is also ridiculous that we were not offered anything in compensation for such slow & unprofessional service. i also want to mention that i believe the owner was at the restaurant all evening & he did not even seem to notice that the waiter abandoned the entire dinning space for over 45 mins??
Great Thai tavern, small bites, Satay's are amazing, maybe best Thai chicken wings I've had, curries, pad Thai, papaya salad all excellent. Good vib music, drinks & wine, & small 8oz beers.
Visited this Thai restaurant on Sunday night, Parking was a hassle, & when we arrived at 8:00 PM, the place was empty, which almost made us leave. But we decided to stay & try it out.
We ordered fried pork belly, beef, & fried chicken salad. The pork belly was great, crispy with a tangy dipping sauce. The beef & chicken salad were not bad, both sweet & spicy but tasted pretty similar.
We also tried the mango sticky rice, which was very sweet - sweeter than what I had in Bangkok, with a lot of condensed milk. It seems this place leans toward a sweeter flavor profile.
The place feels more like a bar than a restaurant, with smaller portions that are better for sharing & having drinks. The inside had an odd smell, like it needed some maintenance, maybe sitting outside would be better?
Every dish was exceptionally delicious, starting with the housemade mignonette for the oysters, which was out of this world. The Pad Thai was amazing, boasting incredible flavor & the perfect level of spice. We also loved the skewers-both pork & chicken were juicy & flavorful.
Another highlight was the delicious sausage with coriander, which had a unique taste that we couldn't resist.
We were blown away by the wonderful & creative cocktails.
For dessert, the sticky rice with mango was superb. SUPERB. -we couldn't stop eating it, even whIile already completely full 😅
On top of the incredible food & drinks, the daily beer special ($2.75 for a 6-oz lager), & Wednesday's $1 oysters, made for fantastic deals.
Service was super fast & friendly, making the overall experience even better. We had a wonderful; we highly suggest you go!
Best Thai food I've ever had with delicious & creative drinks. The owners are so kind & all of the wait staff were so pleasant. Highly recommend you stop by for a drink & meal!

Good job au personnel! 🙌
Feels more like a bar than a restaurant, with a hint of stale beer lingering & dim lighting that made it hard to see. I had to use my phone's flashlight to read the menu. We were excited to try this Thai pub, but the main dishes-chicken curry & pork belly-At $25 & $28, were pricey for what came as small portions & nothing particularly memorable. No ustensiles served we had to dig into a pot on the table to find forks & spoon ( no knifes). Luckily, the tapas section saved the night As we were still starving we ordered Satays & a Poutine: At $10, they offered similar portion sizes without the rice & cucomber slices & were much better value. Drinks were also well-priced & a good deal. Overall, I'd say skip the mains, go for drinks & tapas instead!
Very, very mediocre. Every dish was just okay. Apple papaya salad had enormous chunks of apple. Pad thai had almost no noodles?! Chicken massaman was two chicken legs with two rock hard slices of potato. Yikes. It's a cute patio for a drink but the food just isn't it.
Yummy Thai tapas. Authentic but original for Montreal. Great place to hang with friends, have a drink & share a meal or even a light bite (all depends on how much you order). Shoutout to Sophie. Charming yet professional.
