Reviews describe Cuba Paisa as a lively, welcoming spot with a warm ambiance and frequent live music that enhances the celebratory vibe. The food earns praise for bold flavors and generous portions, with standouts like bandeja paisa, grilled chicken, ropa vieja, empanadas, and chorizo, and many diners note that portions are so ample that sharing is common. Service is repeatedly described as friendly and efficient, contributing to a positive dining experience. Several comments mention renovations and a bright, inviting atmosphere on weekends. Some criticisms appear, including that the space is a bit tight, dishes can vary in quality, and a few items such as tamal or croquetas may not meet expectations, with others feeling the Cuban representation could be stronger. Overall, Cuba Paisa is seen as a memorable Montreal stop for good food, large portions, and a festive Latin vibe, ideal for birthdays and gatherings, though visitors should expect a busy, lively environment and align expectations with menu highlights.
Were Cuban, born in Cuba & immigrated to the US. We went to Montreal for a week vacation & we were missing home, a friend recommended this place but we were initially suspicious because we've been stiffed of places labeling themselves as Cuban in the US only to try the food & realize it's not authentic. Here? 10000% authentic. We were thrown back into our childhood, waiting grandmas kitchen when we tried their food. The cook & servers are Cuban, & the food was amazing. It was very reasonably priced & we left feeling SUPER full & couldn't even finish the plate so we took it to go! (It stores well in the fridge). So yes, this is an authentic Cuban restaurant, certified by actual Cubans ❤️

Pricey for the portions. Food was tasty but the fajita de pollo looked like the Plato con pollo. No difference. Server never checked on us after bringing our food. The mojito was excellent.
I would give it a five stars if it wasn't for the size of the place (a bit small) & it could have more variety on the menu given the extensive variety of Cuban & Colombian dishes there is. The food is excellent though.
