Comptoir Sushi Yatta est largement apprécié pour ses sushis frais et savoureux à des prix raisonnables, avec une grande variété et une qualité constante des ingrédients. Les avis décrivent un service rapide et courtois, une ambiance accueillante et une préparation soignée, souvent réalisée devant les clients. Le menu propose des options diverses dont des sushis et une pizza sushi, et plusieurs convives saluent la vraie chair de crabe et des saveurs bien équilibrées. Bien que les retours soient majoritairement positifs, quelques commentaires évoquent des soucis de commande et une récente remarque sur l’absence d’options végétariennes, le tout soulignant la fraîcheur, la constance et la valeur qui font revenir les clients.
One of the best sushi in Montreal. The price is fair & they use high quality ingredient. Also they use real crab meat not like others place who claim crab meat roll but it's actually just fake crab meat.
You might not expect much from a simple one room space sushi place (yes that seems to rhyme by complete chance), but this one does roll quite high despite first appearances.
Upon further interaction you will find a very friendly & welcoming Catherine serving customers at the counter, within ear shot of her is sushi Chef Vince who is just to the left preparing some pretty darn fresh & tasty sushi delights.
Then let's not forget Quan prepping & assisting just a few feet behind the other two members of the small but mighty team.
Some of the stand out dishes & points from a few visits thus far have been their memorable sushi pizza which is neither heavy nor greasy like many others around town can be. You can actually eat the whole thing & not feel gross which leaves more room for chef's choice creations with ingredients like perfect textured avocado & salmon which they also fashion into well presented florets (despite being pretty are very easily consumed).
A few small side notes about well their'sauces'.
Slightly spicy mayo works well with the sushi pizza. Their house blended soy is not too salty, yet still remains very umami tasting & finally their wasabi a bit darker green than most & a bit more dense which made it harder to dissolve in the soy sauce & therefore did not give the typical nose burn - a love hate type of experience. That said, I don't think it is authentic to drop your wasabi in the soy sauce & mix it around so this will surely not take away any of the stars.
There is a small counter for eating on-site which comes in handy since it's hard to resist eating it super fresh.
To sum up with several simple words: fresh, quality, light, upbeat & pleasant.

One of my favourite sushi in Montreal: fresh, good quality wasabi & non-coloured ginger. Soy sauce can be of higher quality. I wish they served toro. Missing 1 star in my opinion because out of all the sushi restaurants in Montreal, Sushi Yatta COULD get as good as Vancouver sushi if they made their rolls & special rolls more like there, moving further away from disgusting deep-fried smoked messy Quebec sushi. EDIT: They've gotten better so… updated from 4 to 5 stars ⭐️
Price/quality ratio in Yatta is amazing. Fresh, delicious & versatile sushi. Also, the service is fast & nice. No wonder it is one of my go-to's in Plateau area!
Seriously best local sushi spot in Montreal!!!! Best quality/price out there I would say. This is my 2nd year getting from Yatta sushi & I'm finally writting a review because I always return. Very fresh fish & other ingredients. Super kind people
I hesitate to review this place, because I selfishly don't want my local hidden gem take-out place to get too popular, heh. This is one of the only sushi places I know that is consistently delicious & generous with their customer service, great prices & bonus rolls. I'm mostly vegetarian, & their assortment of veggie rolls goes well beyond the standard "oshinko/cucumber/pepper" roll & I gotta say it's delightful. (One can get tired of cucumber hosomaki after a while.)Their flambeed salmon is the only time I'll make an exception & eat fish, btw. Woman-owned & with an emphasis on quality, I can't recommend this place enough. (I'm literally there weekly.)
I have ordered from this place multiple times, & it doesn't disappoint. The quality is consistent. Tasty sushis! Always feel fresh! When I have a craving for sushis, I end up at Comptoir Sushi Yatta. The subtleties of ingredients used make a difference in wanting more.
Honestly the best sushi's i ever had in Montreal. Best quality/price i've ever seen. Fresh, generous & the quality is unbeatable. Would recommend 100%. Staff is super welcoming, very friendly people. Overall, amazing experience, everything was fresh from the fish to the strawberry & mango, the presentation was beautiful!

I was looking for good sushi on my lunch break & found this spot looking at google maps. Reviews were good so I wanted to give it a try & was not disappointed at all! I had a 14 piece combo that was freshly made & it was to die for!!! I'll go back for sure. For me, it was the quality of ingredients, the freshness & welcoming service I had! Very fair Quality/price spot!
I love this place; the quality of the sushi is always really good & fresh. I especially love their sushi without rice. They offer a variety of options. Highly recommend!
