My wife, daughter & I had dinner here on a recent trip to Montreal. The patio was busy but we decided to try it. Atmosphere was great & the food was good. Our waitress did an amazing job. She was attentive & fast. Our toddler was hungry when we sat down so we asked for some bread & butter before our meals arrived. The bread came super fast which kept our toddler calm & happy.

Service like that is hard to find these days & we were very happy with our waitress.She deserves here flowers 💐

I was hoping to have a different experience than other reviews but it seems a reoccurring trend - we went for dinner (2 adults & 1 child) & was disappointed with the timelines aspect. While the server was pleasant, a hamburger & salmon took 45 minutes before we actually got food in hand. After half an hour post ordering & before the food was served, we requested to have the food packed to go which ended up with another 15 minutes. The manager & the server were sympathetic but the food was cold when it did arrive . I might have chalked this up to a busy night but our specific was pretty empty & based on other reviews - it seems to be a trend. Atmosphere is nice but suggest not having expectations on the actual culinary execution.

Very busy restaurant but excellent food! Loved the bolognese! The restaurant manager was amazing! She was very attentive to all of us & our kids. Thank you so much for making our experience that much nicer.

We stumbled upon Comptoir 400 while looking for somewhere to eat in Montréal, & we were pleasantly surprised. The service was exceptional, & the atmosphere was great. We dined inside while the patio outside was busy & had a nice energy.

I was traveling with a knee injury, & our waitress & bartender were both incredibly kind & brought me ice for my knee. That extra bit of care really stood out.

I had the chicken sandwich, & my daughter ordered the chicken burger. Both meals were good, & we enjoyed our visit. A great spot with friendly service & a welcoming atmosphere.

We were disappointed with the service, the place was empty, no one outside at the pillar to seat us for the longest time, we had to go in to find someone to ask if they were open for business - servers were busy chatting amongst themselves & others within the place other than making sure we were taken care of properly.
To get our bill - we basically had to stand up & put our coats on for them to be attentive.

Nice place to visit in the summer. Nice patio to people watch. Good food good service. It always looks Like they are short staffed since they don't have too many staff on the patio when It's super busy. Other then that we always have a nice lunch or dinner when we are in the area

Very busy quasi cafe in the middle.of very busy old Montreal by the Port. Nice enough staff. Seemed to have ample staff but still overwhelmed by crowd of people on a not so busy day. Then again doesn't seem like any food place in Montreal emphasizes speed.

Delightful, busy spot. We were stopping in for coffee & pastries before going our separate ways. The staff was exceptionally friendly & kind. I look forward to returning to Montreal & Comptoir 400. 🙂
