We drove on our way back from Quebec City. It's a GEM of a place for sweet lovers & chocoholics! Loved the hot chocolate & gelato! They were kind enough to give us a larger size than we ordered! Highly recommend it!View more

They serve gelato here! & not just any gelato... amazing home-made gelato! What a great place to come on a summer day or especially evening to choose 2 or 3 scoops of their different flavours in a sugar cone & then sit in one of their cute comfortable patio chairs & small patio table & watch life go by in the heart of Saint-Laurent on a huge sidewalk made just for this purpose. After I get through all of their gelato flavours, I'll start on the chocolate, which looks just as amazing. A very hospitable son told me that this is a family run shop around for 35 years, mom is a trained chef, & there are classic French crêpes coming this fall. Stay tuned.View more

DISAPPOINTING. I've been going to chocomax since i was a little girl. used to be owned by a passionate man who loved the craft of making chocolate & gelato/used to be the best gelato in town. now it feels overpriced, the service is bad, prices unclear/seems like they force you to tip or something. stomach ache immediately. was so excited to visit from out of town & have a proper milkshake…well now it's a 10$ cup of milk that was too sweet to finish. no ice-cream in there to shake. Never been so disappointed with a gelato spot in my life. I MISS THE OLD CHOCOMAX made with love, not with greed.

based on the passive aggressive response, pretty in-line with the service received in general, please don't worry about what i will & won't be reading. I obviously don't plan on coming back. appreciate the friendly & family-oriented response that, don't worry, has been screenshotted. my mistake to assume a 10$ milkshake would contain more than just milk & sugar. good luck with the business, too bad it was sold to whoever is running it now, leaving such professional & apologetic responses.
PS i would have skipped through but the server clicked buttons behind the counter, inside a drawer & hidden, then she clicked through the card machine herself. i didn't even have a chance to touch the machine at all which felt very sketchy to me.View more

I always go to chocomax to grab the their hot chocolate or mocha. I never used to like hot chocolates but ever since i tried theirs, this has changed. I can gladly say that it's the best hot chocolate in montreal! It's perfect for the winter & cozy season. & their service is amazing. The owner is really friendly & makes sure to make your drink the way you want it. I recently tried their ice cream & i fell in love with it. The chocolate flavour really stood out to me. Can't wait for summer again so i could always go & grab it! Overall 10/10!View more

Hidden Gem for artisan chocolate & gelato ice cream in VSL area:) Such enjoy the atmosphere，lovely welcome & cleam！Family business so people who works here really nice & generous :D I would really recommend dark chocolate mix flavored kunefe with pistachios! Wonderful design & inspiration! For gelato, pls try Achata- which is the best! For no dairy try Blood orange sorbet. Owner bought orange from France, their pistachio which also import from Sicilia-Italy. Well personally enjoy black sesame, rum raisin, banana!! Both of the flavor were my favorites.View more

It was my first time buying chocolate from this business & I was really disappointed. They only had 4 different chocolates on display that you could choose from, so not many varieties that day. They said that that inconvenience was because they had just reopened after a 2 month break, so I believe that normally they have more varieties to choose from.View more

First off, apologies for the not-so-great pictures, they don't do justice for how AMAZING the chocolates are 😭 You can taste the quality of the chocolates, they're very decadent & they carry a variety of flavours. We also had their hot chocolate & it's a must try!!! The texture is very rich, they make it out of real chocolate (I.e not made out of powder). Even when they were making it, the lady made us try it first & asked if we wanted more chocolate, which I found to be nice of her!! The service... is honestly impeccable. The lady was so nice & informative when it came to explaining the chocolates. She even made us try a few to see which ones we liked! We'll definitely come back to try their ice creams when it's back in season 😊 Overall, if you're looking for high quality chocolates with 5 star service, this is the place to visit. I felt like a kid at the Willy Wonka chocolate factory 😂 I couldn't recommend it more! :)View more
