A gem in Montreal. The food is insanely good, the place is small & feels cozy.
This is our top Japanese place in Montreal.
Bonus points for old Adidas Tennis rackets on the wall. It is truly Japanese comfort food.
Nice little Japanese restaurant serving good homey dishes. Will go back
Knowing well Japanese food living in Asia. Yes this is good but in my opinion way too much oil & onions in the sauce & not enough meat
Given the price I was disappointed by the portion (quite small) the tiny bit of meat & the huge amount of oil - the egg is a simple sunny side up not at all the Japanese egg I was expecting to get in a Japanese restaurant & for the price we paid!! Biggest disappointment
Service: there always only 1 girl in charge of the whole restaurant - so there was a very long wait - but she was very graceful & smiley
The gyoza are very good & the chicken as well
Ended up paying 120$ for 3 & not sure whether it's really worth it
Hidden gem serving Japanese comfort food. Creative & unique interior decor.
Truly excellent Japanese food at this small casual restaurant on Park Street. Friendly service too.
Authentic Japanese restaurant near the city center. Great atmosphere & the staff is very friendly. This restaurant deserves to be known.
We did try various dishes & were not disappointed. We had Edamame, Gyoza & Karaage as starters, then Oyakodon & chicken Teppanyaki as main. It was clearly sufficient for 2 people. The kitkat dessert looked also very yummy but did not have it in the end.
Everything is good & beyond expectations. Recommend dish: chashudon. The meat was moist & tasted great. The atmosphere is cozy & peaceful, with Japanese decorations.
Awesome Japanese restaurant, very quiet & good food. Totally recommended
Amazing japanese restaurant with no-frills authentically savoured food. Stays away from stereotypical pseudo japanese food, & it's fine !! I'll be back next time I miss Japan.
Dont know why it's Called that. Great food tho. Some of the best Japanese curry in the city
A very quaint & authentic Japanese restaurant which is a hidden gem in Montreal. We have tried many Japanese restaurants in Singapore, Malaysia, US, UK, Canada & of course Japan & this restaurant is right up there with some of the best we ever tried. The owner is so warm & friendly & the decor is immaculate, bespoke & so we'll thought of. The food is amazing, fresh & portion sizes are very good. We really enjoyed our dinner & will surely return when we are next in Montreal.
Lovely little Japanese restaurant with lots of plants, & studio ghibili memorabilia on the walls. It's quiet & very relaxing. The poke bowl was delicious, with a creamy slightly sauce that is perfection. The iced lychee green tea was sweet & refreshing. Highly recommend!
Very cute & cozy Japanese spot on Parc ave. Their korokke & gyudon are great, & I'm definitely coming back for their wintermelon & lime ice tea!
Hands down, the best Japanese restaurant in Montreal. If you're looking for real Japanese dishes, you have to try this place. Friendly owners & excellent service
Chillax is a great addition to the student ghetto. Located on Park just below Milton, this restaurant has everything. Really fine Japanese food, friendly personal service & a great atmosphere. You don't notice this the place so much from the street but that contributes to its hidden charms. I've lived in the area for 43 years & I'm very happy to have such good cuisine in the area that isn't hard on my wallet. Highly recommend checking it out.
Had an amazing experience for my mother's birthday at Restaurant Chillax! We found this lovely little place close to our hotel & it certainly did not disappoint. The portion sizes were perfect & it was some of the best Japanese food we've ever had. The service was also very friendly & efficient. Looking forward to coming back when we're back in town!
