Chillax is described across reviews as a cozy, casual Japanese spot with a calm, welcoming vibe where comforting dishes like ramen, donburi, gyoza, and karaage hit the mark, with many noting salmon teriyaki donburi, udon, and fried squid or takoyaki as standouts; the space is simple and authentic, and the decor with anime posters adds a nostalgic energy that many find charming. The service is praised for friendliness and attentiveness, though in one case a long wait occurred when only one staff member was on duty. It is often called a hidden gem and a reliable go to for casual meals, with guests enjoying a homey atmosphere and a good selection of sake, while some concerns include sauces that feel a bit oily, portions that can seem small for the price, and one review mentioning an egg that did not meet expectations. Overall Chillax comes across as a consistently tasty, comfortable place that invites repeat visits.
Everything is good & beyond expectations. Recommend dish: chashudon. The meat was moist & tasted great. The atmosphere is cozy & peaceful, with Japanese decorations.
Takoyaki had 2 pieces of octopus which was great! It was crispy & tasted like your usual takoyaki. I really enjoyed the curry cheese udon with the potato croquette. The cheese made it very creamy & thick & the curry had a great flavour! I tried my boyfriend's regular curry rice & I enjoyed this much more. The potato croquette was nicely fried & piping hot! I do wish the portion was bigger though.
I went to this place because it was close to my hotel & had great reviews on Google. I was not disappointed. The place is small but cozy. It was not crowded, & the service was friendly & quick. My soup was very good, & it was a good value for the money. I would definitely recommend it.
Amazing japanese restaurant with no-frills authentically savoured food. Stays away from stereotypical pseudo japanese food, & it's fine !! I'll be back next time I miss Japan.
