Review Summary

Chicha San Chen is widely regarded as a premier destination for bubble tea in Montreal, consistently praised for its high-quality, authentic tea brewed fresh to order using sophisticated equipment rather than powdered mixes. Many customers highlight the flavorful, aromatic nature of the teas and the superior texture of the honey-infused tapioca pearls, noting that the menu allows for customizable sweetness and ice levels. While the shop is frequently described as a small, takeaway-focused venue with no indoor seating and occasional long wait times, most reviewers find the premium experience and attentive service worth the price. Although some guests have reported inconsistent service experiences or limited availability of certain flavors, the general consensus celebrates the establishment as a standout spot in Chinatown that delivers a sophisticated and refreshing beverage experience.

One of the best, sadly it's hidden because of the construction but it's worth the walk

Average bubble tea, taro option is too hard in terms of texture

Best bubble tea hands down. Tapioca bubbles are like pillows in my mouth. There wasn't an option to have 50% sugar - oh well. Take it as they designed it for best flavor.

I went to the chicha san chen bubble tea place in toronto & I became a fan of their bubble tea. I came back to montreal & tried the store here & I was extremely disappointed by their bubble tea. Montreal store should maintain the standard & quality of the bubble tea that chicha san chen is known for.

Wanted to try & see what the hype was about. The location is convenient as it's on the corner of St Laurent Blvd & Viger but it's a very small store & got crowded, so not an ideal place if you wanted to sit & have your bubble tea. It's perfect for takeout. The service was a bit slow & took a while to be served as the two people behind the counter weren't facing us & busy tidying up. I ordered the standard milk tea & didn't want to deviate too much. For the price, I found it a bit overpriced for the size you receive. It was fun to watch the tea being made in front of me & it was a nice option to choose the level of sweetness & ice. The bubbles were soft & sweet, & had just the right chewiness to it. The holder was cute but I felt it was a bit unstable so found it to be useless. Overall, my experience was average & not sure I'd return for the milk tea. I may go back to try the other flavors.

The milk tea was OK, I don't see the hype that says it's really good, considering it's not cheap. The bobas were a bit hard for my liking. I wish they were more chewy or soft. The formosa fruit tea is highly recommended- light, refreshing, & sweetened just right. The ambience is another story. Will I come back? Maybe I'll pass.
