Review Summary

Chicha San Chen is widely regarded as a premier destination for bubble tea in Montreal, consistently praised for its high-quality, authentic tea brewed fresh to order using sophisticated equipment rather than powdered mixes. Many customers highlight the flavorful, aromatic nature of the teas and the superior texture of the honey-infused tapioca pearls, noting that the menu allows for customizable sweetness and ice levels. While the shop is frequently described as a small, takeaway-focused venue with no indoor seating and occasional long wait times, most reviewers find the premium experience and attentive service worth the price. Although some guests have reported inconsistent service experiences or limited availability of certain flavors, the general consensus celebrates the establishment as a standout spot in Chinatown that delivers a sophisticated and refreshing beverage experience.

Honestly, it's one of the BEST bubble tea I've ever had. I got the taro king & it was FRESH you can tell that the ingredients are natural & of quality which I love (hate the artificial flavours tbh). Every time I come to China town, it's my go to bubble tea place.

I've tried bubble tea all over Asia & this chain is my gold standard for a classic milk tea bubble tea. Their drinks are more tea-forward than others & they aren't as sweet. This location is just takeout but happy to have it as an option in Montreal.

The staff is very patient & friendly to explain all options, & the milk tea tastes great. Highly recommended. They have limited outdoor seating

CHICHA San Chen might honestly serve the best boba milk tea I've had… ever. & that is saying a lot, considering I grew up drinking it in the suburbs of Los Angeles.

It was obvious that the guy crafting our drinks had a tremendous respect for the tea & the boba, handling the whole process with a level of care & intention that felt just like tei-nei. You can taste that mindfulness baked into every step of the process.

While it does come at a premium price point of $10 Canadian dollars per drink, the exceptional execution makes it completely worth it.

I've been a loyal customer at Chicha Sanchen Montreal for a long time & genuinely love the boba here which is exactly why I feel compelled to leave this review.

Unfortunately, my recent visit today was disappointing due to the staff's attitude & lack of service you can see at the picture. When customers entered the store, the staff member on duty did not acknowledge us or prepare to take orders. Instead, she ignored both myself & other customers waiting in line, leaving us standing for an unreasonably long time without any communication.

This kind of poor service attitude is frustrating, especially as a regular customer who keeps coming back. A simple acknowledgment a smile, a'I'll be right with you' goes a long way. Customers should never feel invisible when walking into your store.

I hope the management takes this feedback seriously & provides proper customer service training to the team. I truly want to keep supporting this business, but the experience needs to improve.

This famous bubble tea shop lives up to the expectation! All their tea is made fresh using their sleek teaspresso machine. I really enjoyed my dong ding oolong tea with fresh milk. I chose 30% sugar, & it still had a nice bit of sweetness paired with a refreshing, toasty aroma. A consistent spot for tasty tea in Chinatown!
