The food was amazing the best Mexican restaurant I ever had the sopa azteca was the was really good it tasted like a poutine with a tomato base as a soup the sope had the most amazing juicy steak. This review is written by my 11 year old son.
To add to his review, as someone that has been to many Mexican Restaurants in the US & Canada. This is by far the best most authentic Mexican food in Canada, outside of Mexico. We were a large group of 8, with various requests to taste a bit of everything. We were all happy, full & pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. From the cactus salad, to the sopa azteca & the birria tacos. Hands down, a must try if you're in Montreal.

By far the best Birria tacos I've had ! Food was authentic & fresh felt like I was eating straight from the streets of Mexico , service & staff super kind & welcoming ,highly recommend La Chalupa 10/10:)

Much more authentic than any of the other mexican instagrammable restaurants. Will definitely return. I've been to Mexico a lot & this is the closest I could find to the flavour there.
