Everything you would want in a casse croute. Decore, out door benches. Hot dogs are great. Toppings are great. Fries are great.
This local landmark sadly didn't live up to the hype, if you plan on making an out-of-your-way trip as we did. You can either take your food to go (not ideal for hot dogs & fries) or eat standing up at a counter with no seats. The place was absolutely freezing cold & unwelcoming & we were eating our meals as quickly as possible. We ordered hot dogs (too much cabbage that wasn't cut), fries with sauce (good flavour but far too much sauce), & fries (very tasty & generous portion). On the pricey side for casse-croute with basic offerings. ***Edit*** Thank you for your response & please note: - we visited prior to the holiday week - sauce is okay but there was too much (it was close to being a soup) maybe offer it on the side(?) - the cabbage is good just ought to be cut & not long spaghetti like strings (& yes I took most of it off)
Came here on Saturday December 7th, 2024 around lunch time - Love the exterior decorations for Christmas, there is a nice mural, lots of stickers in the windows & music playing outside. The restaurant is very small & more of a take out counter, with no seating, there is also a drive through. Note they take cash only, there are ATMs on site. We ordered 2 types of hot dogs & a poutine - the hot dogs were good, michigan sauce could have been more flavorful, it was lacking some sweetness. Poutine was a disappointment - the fries were not salted & sauce also lacked some flavor. It was thin & runny, closer to a BBQ type of sauce like St-Hubert style rather than the thick brown gravy. I found everything could have used more flavor. There is only 1 size poutine & it was on the small size. Considering this is some type of historical institution that's been around since 1929, I expected to be charmed but the food was very average & on the expensive side.
The only place my kids will eat hot dogs. Best quality in the world!! Super clean friendly service . A must visit
Live the fried & poutone, the aroma of the dish wafted through the air, enticing everyone nearby. Each bite was a delightful combination of crispy texture & rich flavors that danced on the palate. As the evening wore on, laughter & conversation filled the room, creating a warm & inviting atmosphere. It was a celebration of not just food, but of shared moments & cherished memories among friends & family.
Historique Landmark. Surprised I've never been or seen it before but what a great place. SINPLE fries & Dogs & they do it perfectly. Great place to go for quick lunch & supposidly open till 4am. Definitely will be back for a late night snack .
The place never disappoints. Service great & still love the great hot dogs & fries. Addition of pouttine, great additions for the times. Always recommend.

I've been last week for a hot dog & poutine !! I have to say it was the best I've ever had Sooo delicious!! The service was awesome I will definitely go back again & bring my friends so they can experience the best of the best !!!
Hot-dogs ! Fries! & more hot-dogs! Une institution du fast-foodqui ne faiblit pas, & qui perdure dans sa tradition. 40 ans? 50 ans , même plus? De bons services, de bonnes qualités, un classique de mtl-nord.

If you haven't tried Chez Ma Tante, I strongly recommend it. True family oriented restaurant. The food is amazing, service is awesome everyone is extremely nice & happy to serve you. Lots of picnic tables outside for everyone to eat together with family & friends & enjoy your time together. Chez Ma Tante is the place to go!!!

Just ordinary fast food joint no hamburger fries could be a little more cook but aside of that it's OK if you're hungry & in the neighbourhood
One of the best poutines & hot dogs I had in my life. The sauce is quite unique & differs from others. Go for the food but not for the friendly service, we didn't have a good experience with the customer service just because the staff was unwelcoming & a tad rude but you go there to eat, not to socialize. Still worth it !
Went there yesterday with my wife, kids & our amazing friends! I have to say, staff was exquisite, food was out if this world delicious & restaurant is super clean!
