Chez Lionel is a French bar & restaurant located at the southeast corner of Drummond & Rene Levesque West. It is located directly across the street from the Sheraton Hotel & close to the Bell Centre.
The spacious restaurant was opened around April 2025 & occupies two floors. The manager, Nick, explained the second floor can be used for a private function for about 100 guests.
We tried some of their classic French dishes. The appetizers, escargot & foie gras, were delicious & full of rich flavour. The server also gave us slices of complementary baguette & a jar of mini pickles.
For main course, the duck breast, the Basque chicken & sole meunière did not disappoint.
The restaurant gave us a crème brûlée to help us celebrate a special anniversary occasion.
Chez Lionel is a great French restaurant serving locally sourced ingredients. We enjoyed our dinner. Highly recommend it.View more
We visited with a group of 8 adults & 3 children. We made a reservation & the staff had set a table up for us with high chairs ready to go. Our waiter Brandan (sorry if I am misspelling your name!) was attentive, friendly, & knowledgeable about the menu. We had a variety of dishes (lobster bisque, the lobster, duck raviolis, beet salad, ny strip & the sole) & everything was really delicious! You can tell that the menu is deliberately crafted. All of our beverages were really good too, especially the eclat d'agrumes! Presentation was tidy & eyecatching & we will definitely come back the next time we are in Montreal! Thank you for the experience & for takkng care of me & my family :)View more
Nous y sommes allés pour dîner : la serveuse était très aimable & souriante. Elle s'est bien occupée de nous. Le repas était très bon, fais maison. Je recommande !View more
Came in for a corporate lunch, the place is clean & menu was good.
The only 2 issues i had was getting the bill in a timely fashion for us to be able to leave & the place was extremely loud where we were seated.View more
Looking for a French restaurant in our area & came across this place. Drinks were delicious food was delicious, fresh & timed well for the experience.View more
Great atmosphere. The food was decent but really expensive. We aren't drinkers, but it would probably be a good place for that. The dessert was pretty good (Apple Tart), but I got a special of Shrimp Risotto & it was really bland & crunchy tasting. My wife had the same experience with her Scallops RisottoView more
Je serai généreux avec les 4 étoiles.
On à souper à 4
On a partagé calmar frit & huitres. Qui étaient bien.
On a mangé :
Wow & Wow is exactly how I will describe this fantastic restaurant! We just landed 🛬 in Canada & this was our first experience at a restaurant. Their escargot was Devine…the service was off the charts…the staff & management were very gracious. Coming for the states, they all made us feel so welcome. 🙏 must must dine here! ❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?View more
Excellent French restaurant in the best location. Stunning ambiance & amazing food. Our sever was kind, knowledgeable & very attentive. He knew every food item on the menu, we were very impressed with his knowledge. We had a 3 year old with us & he was very kind to her. Thank you for a beautiful & enjoyable dinner in Montreal 🙏💖View more

The management & hostess are children. The owner should hire better people to revive the restaurant. The big restaurant only filled several tables on a Friday night.
The lobster bisque was a pitiful lobster broth served lukewarm. They should take it off the menu. The Caesar salad & the duck breast were delicious.View more
Great 40$ set lunch, big portions, great service, clean bathrooms, (best mocktails I've had in montreal!) highly recommend for a BD lunchView more
Service is great! for lunch the waiter will ask about your schedule to make sure you get your food on time so that you have enough time to eat & go back to work on time. I had the chicken for lunch & it was a great portion & great flavours. Only thing that was disappointing were the truffle fries…smells great but seems like it somehow lacks flavour & truffle essence..View more
I've already been to this restaurant several times, with friends & colleagues, as I work in the adjacent tower block. Always a warm welcome, great food, friendly staff. That said, Saturday night was a very bad experience. Everything was going well right up to the bill. We were billed for an extra bottle, no problem, mistakes happen. We asked for a refund...it seemed like sending a rocket to the moon... That said, the problem was the manager in place that evening. A condescending, aggressive tone. The mistake was theirs, but Madame was probably in a hurry to leave. We've never been treated like this, whether in restaurants like Maison Boulud, L'europea, Mariott Champlain, Bar George, Marcus or others...This person should think about changing jobs, especially in Montreal downtown, where the competition is fierce & customers deserve respect, like everywhere else. Next week, my colleagues & I will go elsewhere, no doubt. It's a pity, because the place is beautiful, the food very good, & very well located, but when you have 4th-rate staff like this person, it ruins everything. I would like to say that our sergeant had nothing to do with this behavior, nothing to reproach him for. Good luck for the future.

Really nice restaurant that I would like to try a second time. The vibe is quite French.
The dishes were fine, but I felt like something was missing in the confit canard. The salad was really good, though. & the service is impeccable: they are kind & quick.
It was nearly empty when we went, so it was quiet & it felt exclusive.View more
This was our first stop for food while in Montreal & it was delicious! The server made great recommendations as we followed her guide. Everything from the wine, appetizer & 2 entrees were lovely. The ricotta ravioli & the leek appetizer were divine!View more
