The food was delicious & the service was excellent. The servers were very friendly & worked hard to accommodate our group of ten on short notice. Highly recommend stopping here if you're looking for a bite in Chinatown.

Had dinner her last night 12.13.25 while visiting from Florida. It's a small place, upstairs, located in the Chinatown area of Montreal & the food was very good. We had the beef fried rice & the general Tao's chicken. It was just us two, but the generous portions were plenty for 4. If we're in Montreal again, we'd love to try other dishes here.
This restaurant deserves a michelin star by its authenticity & foods that is bursting in flavors, I always & proudly recommend this to my friends if they are going to chinatown.
We discovered Chez Chili thanks to a recommendation from Jie Hau, the incredibly helpful doorman at Holiday Inn Montreal Centreville Downtown. We were headed to a different restaurant in Chinatown when Jie suggested this spot instead-& we're so glad he did!
Tucked away in a basement location, Chez Chili might be easy to miss, but it's absolutely worth finding. The menu is enormous, with a wide variety of dishes to suit every taste. The staff was friendly & helpful, answering our questions & making sure we had a great dining experience.
Every dish we ordered was flavorful, fresh, & well-prepared. The portions were generous, & the food came out quickly despite the busy atmosphere.
Whether you're staying nearby or just exploring Chinatown, Chez Chili is a fantastic spot for authentic Chinese cuisine. Big thanks again to Jie Hau at Holiday Inn Montreal Centreville Downtown for sending us there-it truly made our night in Montreal memorable!

This time we were 7 people on a Friday night we waited 15 min & the food was even better than last time. General Tao is amazing! We also tried the spicy hunan beef which was also great! All around, this place is still incredible for the money you pay & service, best place in Chinatown imho.
Low msg Chinese food, very good! I will come back & their service is great really sweet waitresses. The Tsing Tao beer is great also.
Prices are great, variety & clean food.

Found myself alone in Montreal on a Friday night. Chinatown was not far from hotel. Came upon this restaurant after asking for a recommendation in an Asian Market. Chez Chili was some of the best Szechuan I've ever had.
The wait staff was so nice . You could tell they have regulars that come in- which is a good sign.
Delicious !! This is my go to place in Chinatown . The food is always delicious & always fresh . I usually do take out but decided to eat there & the food is just as delicious & service was very quick . The portions are quite big as well I ate for 2 days with my leftovers. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a delicious meal !
Heart of Chinatown mtl. Looks like you are going to a grungy spot in the basement however it is well worth it to keep going & order some food. The service is mid with a girl who does not look to happy to serve you but the food is solid. On par quality some of the Chinese food spots in Toronto. We got the bone in chilli chicken, sizzling beef woth ginger & green onion + chicken fried rice. Truly hit the spot. Highly recommend.

Traditional Chinese food local in Chinatown, spicy, sweet & delicious. I love the Kung Pao Chicken & the fish with pickled mustard. The portions are perfect sized paired with a bowl of rice! Aside from Panda express, I would say, one of the best in West of Asian food.
Pendant années j'allais à Chinatown sans jamais rentrer dans ce restaurant, honnêtement oui, je le sous-estimer. Quelle erreur, & honte à moi! Un jour, j'ai décidé d'y entrer après mes courses au marché de fruits de mer qui est en face, c'est devenu mon restaurant chinois préféré! Authentique cuisine Szechuan! Le service est impeccable, le personnel est très aimable & disponible & me suggère toujours le meilleur & les généreuses portions aussi. J'adore les concombres marinés & épicés, le poulet frit avec des os, le boeuf grésillant, salade de pommes de terres épicées, le riz frit maison... Bref si vous voulez de la cuisine chinoise authentique, c'est une des meilleures places, je ne suis jamais déçue, une belle constance!
THE BEST OMG I really do think that one of the few things that Toronto has over montreal is Chinese food but this place is a beacon of hope in a sad sad chinatown filled with boba shops &'ravioli chinois' restaurants. Everytime I step into chez chili I am welcomed by the aroma that can only remind me of Toronto. Perhaps this place will cure years of childhood trauma growing up as a person of color in a white town & growing to hate my mom's cooking. Then again maybe not & their braised eggplant is just really good & I didn't need to write my college admissions essay on my stinky lunches. But it got me into college so what can you really do about it? Get the bone in chicken

Ce restaurant chinois, situé en plein milieu de Chinatown, est un véritable bijou d'authenticité. Dès l'entrée, l'accueil chaleureux & amical du personnel vous met à l'aise. L'atmosphère est authentique, ce qui ajoute au charme de l'endroit. Quant à la nourriture, c'est un régal ! Les portions sont généreuses & chaque plat est un véritable délice. De plus, si vous ne pouvez pas tout finir, pas de souci : les restes peuvent être emportés chez vous. Si vous êtes de passage dans Chinatown, je vous recommande vivement de faire un arrêt ici. Vous ne serez pas déçu !
This is a hidden gem in Chinatown Montreal. The food is unbelievable. We went back a second time during our stay it was so good. The hot & sour soup is the best we've had anywhere. Every mean we had was excellent.
Located in a prime spot in Chinatown, this underground restaurant is always bustling with a crowd. The atmosphere is vibrant, & the staff is incredibly friendly & attentive. The food was quite good, though it took some time to get used to the unique flavors. Portions are very generous-almost too much. By the time I finished the appetizer, I was already feeling full. Despite that, I went on to try the Singaporean noodles, chicken fried rice, & assorted vegetables, which were all quite tasty. Given the popularity of the place, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid the long queues.
