We started the meal with fried imperial rolls & peanut butter dumplings which were both so delicious. We shared two mains; Ped yang Panang (vegan duck seitan Curry) & Kao Man Gou (steamed tofu with spicy sauce & ginger rice). Both were good but I love my curries so the sietan curry had me. We also got a Kao man gai soup which was a little bland but other than that great food experience.
I've been promising to come to this place the next time I got to Montreal, so I decided to go on my first night there! The service was exquisite & knowledgeable & guiding. The atmosphere was so sweet, bright, chill, cozy, & still had a warm, fuzzy energy about it, even though it was early enough that it wasn't very busy yet. I had a delicious tequila cocktail, nice & spicy, brussels sprouts with satay sauce that will blow your mind, & a beautiful fresh green papaya salad. Can't wait to go back to try more things! Popped in for lunch, this weekend. I had the sandwich special, which meant that I force-fed (not at ALL!) some absolutely killer dumplings in a satay sauce I'd like to marry, a yummy & refreshing Thai Iced Tea & a ridiculously happy-fying vegan ham banh mi! I haven't had a banh mi in years, & this one was flawless! Bright, balanced, sweet, fresh... I ate it way too fast. I think I was afraid to put it down! Next visit: duck sandwich, & next, soup!
Excellent vegan Thai food, the dumplings (Kiao Satay) are amazing, also tried Pad Thai Tao-Hu, Kao Man Gai, both delicious. The owner is the daughter of the original ChuChai restaurant owners & she has her mom's talents & cooking skills. Highly recommended.
Everything on this menu is phenomenal. I've tried most of the menu & there are literally no bad dishes. Special shout-out to the red-curry noodles, crispy rice, & mushroom wings. So happy to have another vegan Thai spot in Montreal (especially one where I can proudly take non-vegans & they're equally impressed).
Mango sticky rice is outstanding & reminded me of my trip in Thailand. I would come back just for that. With that said, the rest of the food was also very good. The brussel sprouts were very nice, although a little too salty. The green curry & vegan duck penang were good too. The waitress was very attentive & helpful! Small terasse to eat outside was a bonus.
What a lovely, family run restaurant! I'm a BIG Chuchai fan so I was happy to try Chai-yo. The food was great - spicier than ChuChai for adventurous palates. We went for a quick dinner & had the Ped Yang Panang (vegan duck) which was sooo good! Also had the green papaya salad & it was spicy & flavorful! The dumplings with peanut sauce are similar to Chuchai's but have their own spin with a chili oil drizzle. Couldn't get enough of the Thai iced coffee!
Great Thai vegan restaurant in Montreal! Food was tasty & the staff were warm & inviting. Can't wait to try it again!
The vegan duck sandwich is the best. The Pad Thai is also delicious. Definitely will recommend to all my friends. Two thumbs up!!!
Delicious food & great staff! We had the vegan duck sandwich, the spring rolls, the green curry noodles, the pad see ew, the pad Thai & the vegan duck noodle soup.
Amazing little thai restaurant, perfect for a quick lunch with friends or family. Everything on the menu is delicious, i recommend trying everyhting! It's our new favorite spot :) & it happens to be vegan which is awesome! No need to contribute to animal exploitation to have a good meal :D
Very tasty & authentic thai style cooking. Can't stop coming back for their Seitan duck.
Great vegan twist on traditional Thai food! We enjoyed the vegan duck noodle soup in particular. Great service.
Excellent food, service & very authentic vegan Thai food. Highly recommended.
Nice vareity of Thai vegan food options. Unique menu with friendly service! Great spot to share a nice meal so you can try different options.
Delicious, fresh vegan Thai food in an unassuming, laid back vibe. Will definitely be returning. Every dish was balanced - the potatoes were a real surprise & standout, flavour wise. Green curry was perfect. Only a matter of time before this place becomes a go-to.
Really good vegan thai restaurant! I went there to get food for a pick up. The menu is entirely vegan which makes for a big change compared to most Montréal restaurants. The music in there is good, the ambiance is cool as well. It's a brand new restaurant but it was surprisingly empty for the quality. I sat alone in there waiting for my order. The waitress was really kind in helping me navigate the menu & telling me her favourites, best sellers etc. I'd be willing to go eat there instead of getting a take out next time. I took the red curry & it was surprisingly spicy. I'm used to spicy food but this was something. Even 25 minutes of commute after getting my food it was still really good. Everything tasted super fresh & had deep flavours. I'll have to go back to take some pictures of the food because I jumped right in as soon as i opened the plates. So I don't have any pictures of the food..
Amazing new Vegan Thai food place, everything was fresh & delicious. Super friendly staff, will definitely come back again!
The place to stop for mouth-watering noodle soup, scrumptious red & green curries, delectable duck & paté sandwiches on divine baguettes, & Thai iced tea, right next to Carré Saint-Louis. You will love this place, whether you are vegan or not.
The noodle soup with crispy duck is the best soup I ever had! Sandwich Chai-Yo tasted great & the Thai iced tea was refreshing. I will definitely come back!
