About us

Casa Galicia has been a staple of Spanish cuisine in Montreal since 1977. Founded by Laurentino Oliveira and still proudly family-run, the tradition continues today with Jorge Oliveira and David Oliveira at the helm.

Recognized as one of the best Spanish restaurants in North America, Casa Galicia specializes in authentic Galician cuisine, offering classic dishes like paella, zarzuela, and a variety of regional specialties. Guests can pair their meals with a refreshing pitcher of sangria considered among the best in Montreal, or explore the restaurant’s unique wine cellar, featuring reserve wines from Spain’s most prestigious winemaking regions.

I had my best birthday since I live in Montreal. Everything was just perfect. The food was amazing but the best was the service I felt like home. They play the guitar & sang happy birthday when delivering my cake. Thank you for allowing me to live this unforgettable expérience !!!!!!

Excellent restaurant, je le recommande fortement. Tout les plats commandés étaient succulents. Nous avons également adoré notre serveur Phillio, il nous a offert un service impeccable. Merci pour cette belle expérience.

This was the best Spanish food that we had in a while. We went for a 4 day trip to Montreal & thank god we found this gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere was amazing with Spanish music as background but low enough that you could have a conversation. Plus, the service was amazing everyone was super attentive to the point that we never asked for more water or sangria they were always on top of it. & they answered all of our questions. We order the Valencia Discovery Menu, & it was perfect. It has a bit of everything. A octopus salad, cod croquettes, grilled shrimp & grilled squid as appetizers. & for the main dish a Paella Valenciana. Everything was savory & with very good portions. For drinks we went for a large Red Sangria Pitcher & it was well balanced. So good that we order 2 . Overall our experience was excellent. Whenever we are back to Montreal we will be back. The only thing is that they didn't had the live show but tbh it was not needed.

Went for the first time, it was last minute due to plan changing & the staff still helped find us a table on a busy night. it was an incredible evening with amazing food & service, great wine list, live music & friendly family atmosphere. Great seafood paella & tapas!

J'ai eu une expérience incroyable dans ce restaurant ! Le service était impeccable, avec une équipe chaleureuse & attentionnée qui a vraiment fait la différence. La nourriture était tout simplement délicieuse : des plats parfaitement préparés, pleins de saveurs & visuellement très appétissants. On sent que tout est fait avec soin & passion. Je recommande vivement cet endroit & j'y retournerai sans hésiter !

Had a great experience today. Firo was super accommodating & the food was excellent. Even the bread provided before the meal was really good (the best I've had actually lol). Meals are on the pricier side but with their portion & the amount of sea food ingredients they put in, zero complaints. Would come back again!

Firo was our server for my girlfriend & I when we went to celebrate for my birthday! It was such a lovely experience & Firo was going above & beyond to make sure we enjoyed every moment! He surprised me with my own b-day cake, was very talkative & respectful, & made our dining experience a lot more enjoyable! Thanks Firo + the team! P.S ... the sangria pitchers are absolutely delightful!

Fabulous meal at Casa Galicia. Baceleo as appetizer was delicious. Paella was excellent. Ended with Creme Brulee. Fiero was our host & he was delightful. It was a magical night. We will be back.
