About us

Casa Galicia has been a staple of Spanish cuisine in Montreal since 1977. Founded by Laurentino Oliveira and still proudly family-run, the tradition continues today with Jorge Oliveira and David Oliveira at the helm.

Recognized as one of the best Spanish restaurants in North America, Casa Galicia specializes in authentic Galician cuisine, offering classic dishes like paella, zarzuela, and a variety of regional specialties. Guests can pair their meals with a refreshing pitcher of sangria considered among the best in Montreal, or explore the restaurant’s unique wine cellar, featuring reserve wines from Spain’s most prestigious winemaking regions.

The warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and distinctive décor make every visit memorable. On weekends, the experience is elevated with live flamenco performances, including a professional Spanish guitarist, bringing a touch of Spain’s vibrant culture to the heart of the city.

Excellent seafood. Excellent paella. The owner & the staff are very charismatic. The only thing that was missing was the flamenco show. Very cozy & I highly recommend for people that live in the city & for tourists.

Me & my daughter ate Paellas, I enjoyed mine very much & so did my daughter. I also enjoyed the "bisque a l' homard" which I took as an appetizer.

I do not do many reviews, but Casa Galicia is worth it! Cozy, inviting, classy. The food is superb, & their house sangria is DELICIOUS! Service was wonderful. I speak some French, & very little Spanish, but our waiter enjoyed speaking Spanish with our daughter, & was patient in English with me.
We missed the Flamenco entertainment because we came on a Sunday, & we hope to come back to Montreal & Casa Galicia soon.
Muchas graçias, Casa Galicia!

Paella portion was quite small considering the price. Food could use some improvement. A bit too pricey for the quality. Service was good & decent show.

Very nice place for dinner, friendly & attentionate service. Had the plato de Mariscos for two & it was excellent, nicely seasoned & nice variety, Langostina, crab legs, lobster, king shrimps, mussels clams & a nicely saffran laced arroz bomba....a taste & warmth of Espana in cold Montreal. The Spanish wine selection is also superb for the aficionado , had a 1991 Monte Real reserva from Rioja. Excellent.

This was our first time at Cassa Galicia, & we were not disappointed with the service or the food. The only down fall was we didn't get the chance to experience the famous Flamingo Showdue to bad weather, but we shall return again to eat the great food & witness the dancing show.

Acceuil chaleureux, ambiance style Mexicain.
