Casa Galicia has been a staple of Spanish cuisine in Montreal since 1977. Founded by Laurentino Oliveira and still proudly family-run, the tradition continues today with Jorge Oliveira and David Oliveira at the helm.
Recognized as one of the best Spanish restaurants in North America, Casa Galicia specializes in authentic Galician cuisine, offering classic dishes like paella, zarzuela, and a variety of regional specialties. Guests can pair their meals with a refreshing pitcher of sangria considered among the best in Montreal, or explore the restaurant’s unique wine cellar, featuring reserve wines from Spain’s most prestigious winemaking regions.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and distinctive décor make every visit memorable. On weekends, the experience is elevated with live flamenco performances, including a professional Spanish guitarist, bringing a touch of Spain’s vibrant culture to the heart of the city.
Casa Galicia offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that transports guests to Spain with charming decor and regular flamenco performances that elevate the evening. The menu consistently earns praise for authentic Spanish flavors and generous portions, from paellas and seafood platters to tapas and mussels, with sangria and mocktails noted for depth and balance. Service is repeatedly described as attentive, friendly, and professional, with the staff making guests feel welcome and cared for. The overall experience combines tasty food, lively entertainment, and a cozy, romantic or family-friendly vibe, making it a standout in Montreal's Latin Quarter. Prices are considered reasonable for the quality, and the setting is often highlighted as picturesque and well suited for celebrations or a special night out.
Amazing food, service, & flamenco on Saturday nights. The Paella Valenciana is amazing. I was visiting Montreal, but as long as I'm back, I'll be there again! Thank you for a great night!

Exceptional birthday dinner at Casa Galicia. The drive from Toronto was well worth it for the stunning ambiance & Domenic's incredible service-including a Portuguese birthday song! Between the wonderful meal & the Valentine's Day rose, every detail was perfect. We loved the tradition of the bill collection on the wall & were happy to contribute 5 Euros to the display. Highly recommend this gem for any special occasion!
Friendly, relaxed atmosphere, excellent paella, the best I've found in Montreal, an old-fashioned restaurant in all the right ways, attentive service, busy but not hectic or rushed, quiet enough for intimate conversation, but also lively with flamenco show & convivial ambience.
Amazing food, great service & perfect atmosphere. A bit Expensive I would say but we went for the Valentines day special 4 course meal, as we are not a couple that eat that much & we were not advised upon reservation about the special, we ended up paying 250$ for the food that we didn't even eat, i checked the website & the Valentines menu was there but no Price was mentioned & we were obligated to go for the 4 course meal. the Flamingo event was good.👍
Amazing place!! Good food, great service & perfect ambiance. The older gentleman named Fierno? It started with an F, absolutely amazing experience with him & the staff, felt so welcomed & like family!

The menu on their website (which was updated a day ago) is not the same as the menu at the restaurant. The prices are higher. The chef's suggestion supposed to be included coffee (according website menu) they charged extra $5.50
Everything about Casa Galicia is phenomenal. From the warm & inviting atmosphere, to the service & last but not definitely least, the food. I will definitely be back!
Make sure to catch the flamenco show on Friday or Saturday evening!
100% recommend if you're looking for an absolutely wonderful all around experience!

Casa Galicia nails the cozy, casual, family-style spanish food was always meant to be experienced. The ambience turns bottles of wine into heartfelt toasts & the tapas will make you wish everyone joining your table would do so forever.
May more people get to create wonderful memories here. As for me, my wife's 30th birthday here will be, for the time being, a tough one to beat.... Olé!
I come here every time I'm in Montreal. Great atmosphere, food, & service. They have flamenco on Fridays. I prefer their steak cuts to other restaurants in Montreal but wish they made paella for one.
