Review Summary

Reviews highlight good coffee and pastries at a reasonable price, with fast and efficient staff and a nice view; the atmosphere is generally friendly and attentive, though some experiences mention occasional unfriendly staff and variable weekend hours that can include midday closures, and dinners can be quite crowded, with a latte noted for having many layers of taste.

Client fidèle depuis des années, Loris & son équipe sont au top. Souriants & professionnels, les produits proposés sont à la hauteur des attentes. Je recommande !

Got two iced lattes & they were delicious! Strong but not overwhelmingly so & the barista was super friendly.

Often, reviews are written after one particularly bad experience. I write this after having given this place one, two... seven chances. (I counted them.) over two months. I always order "for here", to enjoy my latte or cappuccino in a mug; six out of the seven times, they always, always put it in a paper cup. I started waiting at the prep, & would tell the barista "no! for here please". Then they'd unceremoniously dump the $9 latte into a mug. Often these episodes are accompanied by visible displeasure at having to do it in a mug. On my last visit, order a Matcha latte. $9. They started putting in a paper cup. "No, a mug please!". Pulls out a regular, smallish mug. A matcha latte goes in a large, café-au-lait style mug. "This is the largest we have". What am I paying $9 for? Asked for a glass of water, they "don't have any". Pointed me to the rest of the food court vendors to ask for water. I note that the latte was nine dollars. I wish I could say that at least the coffee is out of this world. It is fine. It qualifies as proper 3rd-wave coffee, but nothing exceptional to make up for the annoyed service or the exorbitant prices. Milks: it's 2024, it's time to stop charging for non-dairy milk, especially since they're the same price in grocery stores. Or at least, don't charge over a dollar ($1.09) for them. Its positives: excellent ambiance, both in the cafe with its decent-sized tables, & in the adjoining Cathcart open space, & its flood of sun. Beautiful place to sit. & I will sit there; but I will not be sipping a coffee from this place.

Le café est plutôt ordinaire, surtout pour un latte au lait d'avoine à presque 8$... & le biscuit au chocolat était tellement dur, j'aurais dû le retourner.

Beautiful cafe with delicious coffee. I had a latte & was greeted by a very friendly staff. The place is gorgeous, & offers a long pastry counter full of goodies ( they have great vegan options too, I tried the banana muffin & croissant!). Quick & efficient, with great quality coffee. Very nice to see a cafe at the Cathcart!
