cafe(38) coffee(26) market(10) latte(9) matcha(8) shop(6) marche(5) croissant(4) barista(4) bean(4) mocha(3) pastries(3)The barista was extremely rude to my family. She belittled one of us in front of a group of people. We don't speak French & this is a clear tourist area so I'm not sure what she expected. Regardless, you don't have to be rude to people. After seeing other comments about the staff being rude it feels very validating.
Great little spot for some seasonal coffee. Wish they had their single origins to try rather than their same rotations.
I had a great experience here & a fantastic mocha to match. The cafe itself has a few seats but no washroom. The cafe is easy to locate within Jean Talon market. The also have a few chairs available outside to sit & look out into the market.
The croissant is PERFECT. Sitting here with the market view, life is good.😊
Incroyable.
Update 2: pas de toilette! Incroyable.
Nice place , good vibe with nice people. The croissants were dry , felt like 2 days old.
Café Saint-Henri at Jean-Talon Market on a Sunday morning is a great spot - with one caveat.
The matcha latte missed the mark for me. If matcha is your order, you may want to look elsewhere. Stick to the coffee - that's clearly where their strength lies.
What saved the visit & then some were the sweets. The pistachio croissant was loaded with puréed pistachio - generous, indulgent, exactly what you want alongside a morning coffee. The chocolate chunk cookie was equally decadent. The kind of baked goods you find yourself thinking about on the way home.
The ambiance is charming & the setting at Jean-Talon is perfect for a slow Sunday morning. & the detail of coffees being handed through the window? A small thing that adds a lot of character to the experience.
Worth a visit - just order the coffee & load up on the pastries.
