After one week in Montreal, I have found the quality of coffee & atmosphere I enjoy the most.
The maple syrup latte was great. All three elements came through strong.
My wife was tentative about getting matcha since we've been disappointed in Montreal so far... but this one did it. We both rate it highly.
I've found coffee culture in the city different than I'm used to so I was pleasantly surprised to find this one. Paper Hill offers two types: a book/study area & an outdoor terrace facing a quiet courtyard shielded from traffic noise. Personally, I like sitting outside in a quiet atmosphere.
In all, the best coffee experience I've had in Montreal.
Great café with excellent coffee & a calm, inviting atmosphere, perfect for studying or reading. The only downside is the coffee is a bit pricier than average, but the quality & vibe make it worth it.
Very beautiful cafe, with a fun artistic & modern look. Very pleasant for work, or to grab a coffee with friends. However, it is quite popular for studying or working, especially on weekends, so plan your visit accordingly to make sure you have a seat in the « computer allowed » section
Perfect spot to study, work, read a book or even sit down & socialize with the people you are hanging out with. Their lattes are yummy & so are their pasteries. They have a place for computers & I genuinely think this is my favorite study spot. The aesthetic is extremely cute & the baristas are so sweet. I definitely reccomend this place for a study session.
Checked out Café Paper Hill this afternoon & it was a solid pick. Went for the seasonal pumpkin spice latte (because fall mood) & it was really nice, warm, flavorful, not overly sweet. Since I was feeling a bit peckish, I grabbed a bagel with cream cheese & jam. Simple but spot-on. Both hit the mark, & the size/price balance is fair, which is always a win in Montreal.
The atmosphere is great! bright, cozy, & the kind of spot you could actually sit down with a laptop & study. Music's at a chill volume (thank you, not blasting), & the back terrace is a sweet bonus when the weather's nice.
Service was friendly & laid-back, & the place has that calm neighborhood café vibe without being pretentious. Overall, a good place to grab a quality coffee, snack, & maybe hang out for a bit. Definitely worth a visit.
Matcha is definitely not their strong suit (maybe coffee is more their focus) wouldn't buy again, nice vibe for studying
Good place to study, it's better to arrive early on weekdays because after 12 pm it gets crowded. There's seats with chargers & a good ambient to study with friends or by yourself
The atmosphere is really pleasant, the coffee & bakeries are ok, great service. Café is used by many to work/study.
We came here to study for a few hours one afternoon, it's a great atmosphere & fairly quiet, the drinks are good but maybe on the pricey side. I like that they don't allow laptops 12-1pm & after 5pm, gives you time to take a break from studying! Would recommend :)
I somehow paid $14.50 (including tip & tax) for an iced latte & a croissant. Ordered an iced latte & it was so sweet, I didn't ask for a vanilla latte or even to have any sweetener added. They kept opening the window & doors even though it was below 10C & customers got up themselves to close the doors since it was so cold inside. It's very pretty & a great place to study, but not worth the money
