I am saddened & shocked that today my boyfriend was pressured by the manager to leave a tip after being handed his coffee. Tipping is optional, & while we often choose to tip because we appreciate & want to support the hardworking staff, no customer should ever feel obligated or singled out.

What made this even more upsetting is that this happened in front of a packed café. There were many other customers present, yet the manager did not make the same comment to anyone else. My boyfriend felt unfairly targeted, which made the experience both uncomfortable & embarrassing.

This is especially disappointing because Olympico has been my beloved coffee shop since the day it opened. I have supported the business from the beginning & have recommended it to countless friends & family over the years.

The staff have always been wonderful, friendly, welcoming, & always greeting us with a smile. That is why this incident was so shocking & disappointing. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident & that management reflects on how customers should be treated, because I would hate to see loyal customers walk away after an experience like this.

J ai donne une etoile pas pour le cafe y rien n a dire le staff est tres gentille a part le vieux monsieur qui a une attitude de merde ,de osé me demander de donner du tips a chaque fois que je prend un cafe je trouve ca tres redicule de la part de ce monsieur qui pretend etre un gérant, j etais propriétaire d un cafe & c la premiere fois que j entend qlq qui t oblige a donner du tips en plus le cafe est plein du monde j imagine qui va pas commencer a demander a chaque client qui ce presente au comptoire franchement 🤬🤬🤬 & ce n est pas la première fois que cette persoone réagit de cette facon ,je suis tj au cafe olympico celui sur st viateur, je viens ici depuis le premiere jour de l ouverture c malheureux, vous devez mettre ce monsieur a l ordre & je suis pas la premiere personne a faire cettte remarque merci

Got an iced americano black. Very smooth, not bitter at all or sour. Highly recommend & would definitely go back.

Café cool & bien situé, une vraie institution à Montréal. Un peu bondé, mais le café & la bouffe sont bons, donc ça vaut le détour !

This place is my most favorite place to have my coffee. Decent coffee & pastries. Lovely, & amazing neighbourhood. Lovely staff. The only problem is that the dining area is small & it's so popular that it's even crowded 7AM or 10PM lol :D but honestly they're open since 6AM! that's not common for MTL... that's a plus.

Stopped by here to grab a quick breakfast to go - got a croissant with turkey & cheese (forgot the exact kind of cheese) & it was delicious! My eyes went big at first bite 😳

I got curious what their slushy machines were making so I asked the barista - he said it wascafe crema. I asked for a small order to try - big mistake as it was soooooo divine!!! Loved it so much that I went back later afternoon & grabbed a bigger one lol

Hope to be able to go back & try some more of their drinks 💕

Always always excellent lattes. Super friendly staff & such jovial atmosphere. This is one of my favourite cafés to go to.
