Tiré de l’italien, notre nom signifie « un café bien fait ». Ici, les saveurs issues des terroirs sont mises de l’avant par le talent de nos baristas et par le savoir-faire des torréfacteurs. Depuis 2007, nous sommes sans relâche à la recherche de la tasse parfaite. Il s'agit de notre quête au cœur du métier d’artisan du café.
Les avis convergent pour dépeindre Café In Gamba comme un endroit où l'ambiance et le café tiennent une grande place: un cadre esthétique, des œuvres d'art, une lumière douce et une terrasse agréable, avec des boissons magnifiquement préparées et un large choix de cafés allant des toasts les plus fonces aux plus leves. Le personnel est souvent souligné pour sa gentillesse et son énergie, ce qui donne une âme au lieu. Le café plaît pour ses déclinaisons variées (latte, moka, matcha, espresso) et ses patisseries, parfois à la hauteur des attentes, parfois un peu en deçà selon les plats et le rapport qualité-prix. Certains critiques trouvent les tarifs eleves et regrettent une constance du service et des defauts mineurs dans les repas, l'absence de prises et une connexion wifi peu fiable. Globalement, Café In Gamba est percu comme un endroit où l'on peut se poser, travailler ou discuter, en savourant des boissons bien executees et en profitant d'un cadre cosy et convivial.
Such a cozy & niche café shop. Great atmosphere & delicious latté. Great for studying, date nights or catching up with a friend. Definitely, will come back!
I visit this cafe primarily for the ambiance & because it's close to my home.
But this space is not customer-oriented.
1) in winter, they should add a curtain at the door to keep from draft coming in.
2) service is non-existent: they treat any request or questions from customers with contempt. It's like you are such a bother to them.i.e.: I ordered a small cappuccino but when he served it, it was quite a big bowl. So I asked: is this small? He said:'it's regular size'.
But what is regular?? There are only two options on the menu: small or large. So what constitutes'regular'? So, to clarify, I asked again'is this the small one'? His colleague then broke in & said with impatience:'yea, it's small & it has two shots of espresso & it's with 1% milk.'
Un hello? It's the employee who could not answer a simple question in straight-forward manner. Why lose patience with me?
This is just one example. My interactions with the staff have always been tense. I don't feel like dealing with that on my weekend.
3) pastry line ups don't look so great. There are definitely better choices in the neighbourhood.
4) All cafes have two shots of espresso. But I should have the option to have just 1 shot of espresso. It feels like they are deciding for me. That feels quite arrogant.
That is what this space it: cozy atmosphere but arrogant attitude & mediocre food & drinks.

I stopped by café In Gamba this morning, & the vibe was really chill & welcoming, nice people around, a cozy atmosphere. I ordered a small latte, & I was pleasantly surprised by the size, it's actually quite big, which was a nice surprise! The coffee itself was really good, smooth & flavorful. I also had a croissant, perfectly crispy on the outside & soft & moist on the inside. Overall, it was a nice experience. They also sell coffee beans, mugs, & other coffee accessories.
As a lesser known branch of one of Montreal's first fourth wave coffee shops, Cafe in Gamba features outstanding, high-quality coffee in a cozy, not-too-crowded space. The coffee is phenomenal -- it's rich, smooth, slightly nutty, & not overly acidic. The baristas are remarkably friendly (& very willing to practice French, for those who are trying to build up their French vocabulary :)), & I love the variety of indoor & outdoor seating. The front windows open into the outdoors, & there's also a lovely patio area with open benches right next to the park. Can't wait to come back!
I recently visited Café In Gamba & had a wonderful time! We ordered a latte & a matcha, both of which were delicious & well-prepared. We also tried their biscotti, brownie, & a vegan panini-all of which were absolutely delightful & added to the overall experience.
The service was fast, & the staff were polite, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The café itself is beautifully decorated, with a cozy & inviting atmosphere. There's plenty of seating, & the place was spotless, which is always a plus.
That said, I did notice that the tables attached to the benches are quite small-perfect for one person but a bit tight for two, especially if you're ordering food along with your drinks. It might be a bit challenging to fit everything comfortably.
Despite this minor issue, I absolutely loved my visit & will definitely be returning. I can imagine this place being even more enjoyable during the summer months, as they have a garage door that lets in plenty of fresh air, creating a lovely open & breezy vibe. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing coffee break & some tasty treats!
