Truly always an awesome experience, & consistently great food & service. Lunch Staples for me are the Tunisian Tuna sandwich with extra bomba or the chicken cutlet with side salad & they make tier own iced tea! (Consider take out here, they're really quick, always better fresh compared to delivery, & you get to see what pastries they've got for a little dessert). Pastas at dinner are my favourite as well, & always ask what's on the menu of the day. Never had a bad experience here & love coming back every time I get the chance!

When entering Cafe Gentile, you are immediately greeted like a member of the family - The food is out of this world & the atmosphere is unmatched. Lucky to have this little gem in our neighborhood! Thanks Gentile family!
Worst experience ive had in a long time ! Got charged 60$ for bread with with a little bit of spread & a ceaser salad & the ceaser salad had huge chunks of kale with no croutons or sauce . Ive never seen that in my life
I was really disappointed with my experience here.
I ordered the Sicilian crostini, which was described with ingredients like roasted bell peppers, pesto, & other toppings. What I actually received was just toasted bread with a blended spread & a small amount of cheese. There were no visible roasted vegetables or distinct toppings as described - it felt more like a purée spread than a composed dish. For around $18, it didn't feel like good value at all.
I also ordered a Caesar-style salad with chicken, & it was equally underwhelming. The greens were served in very large, uneven pieces, with minimal dressing & no croutons, despite being listed. The overall presentation & execution didn't resemble a proper Caesar salad - it felt incomplete & poorly assembled.
In total, I paid about $58, & the food simply didn't match the descriptions or expectations set by the menu. I don't mind paying for quality, but I do expect accuracy & consistency in what's being advertised.
I would strongly recommend that the restaurant provide clearer descriptions & ensure the dishes reflect what is listed, so customers know what they are actually ordering.
Visited Montreal & my friend highly recommended this place & it did not disappoint. Amazing pasta, delicious appetizers & the coffee is a must try along with a Zeppole! Service was excellent but make sure you make a reservations as this place gets busy fast for lunch or dinner! Located 15 minutes from the airport!
I used to only get pizza from this place, but I decided to try it for a late lunch with my partner. We had Nonna Teresa's meatball, which was amazing. It totally took me back to my own Nonna's kitchen, eating her meatballs.
We also had a delicious beet salad. My partner was actually surprised since they usually don't like beets.
My partner got Rigatoni Bolognese, & I had the Gnocchi Pomodoro. Both dishes were good, but I think we were still most impressed by the meatball.
My partner did feel a little ignored by our waiter since they seemed more attentive to other tables around us. But still, I'm looking forward to going back to try a bunch of other dishes on the menu.
Cafe Gentile was recommended to me & my fiancé to provide catering for our recent wedding, & we could not have been happier with the result. The food was absolutely incredible, & the service & attention that the catering team provided to us were exceptional. Every single person at our wedding commented on how delicious the food was. The eggplant parm has quickly become one of my personal favourites. We will absolutely be returning to Gentile (most likely the DDO location) whenever we find ourselves back in Montreal.
Today is Lunar Chinese New Year, & we had a festive dinner in cafe Gentile. We had such a wonderful time! The food quality was excellent, the atmosphere was joyful, & the staff provided outstanding service. Highly recommended!

Great food overall - the sandwich was solid & well made. The coffee was acceptable, though I've had better at their Chabanel location. One small note: for takeout, the tipping options starting at 18% felt a bit posh. Still a nice spot & worth visiting.
So, I got this food delivered to our office & clearly made the correct choice-it was amazing! I've never eaten in the restaurant before, but now that this food turned out so good, I'll be there ASAP. I can't leave much of a review now, other than just praising my chicken cutlet sandwich.
The food here was good & I really liked their truffle fries. Their prices in my opinion are a little higher than it should be but still pretty reasonable. The coffee is really good & the menu offers a wide variety. The service is friendly & quick but there have been times where they were a bit slow (maybe because we were a group of younger people but still no excuse). The place has a really nice vibe & their decor is lovely.
