An absolute must visit in Montréal. I was in town from New York City & trying to find the best vegan treats-sweet & savory-around town & I am so, so glad I made it here. I effectively tried one of everything-I ate a few things in person & took a box of goodies back home-& everything was delicious. The pizzettes, focaccia, amandine, & the vanilla scone (not quite sure if that's what it was) were particular highlights. I'm still dreaming about this place now! If you drop by in the summer, make sure to check first that they're not closed for summer holidays.
An amazing little cafe only open on Fridays. Saturdays, & Sundays.
Fantastic friendly service matched with outstanding soup, snacks, both sweet & savory, as well as coffee, tea, & hot chocolate with either soy, oat, or almond milk.
While it's a miracle that it's a vegan cafe, it's top notch for any type of cafe.
If you can get here, you will be amply rewarded!
2nd visit update:
We got all different things this time & they are at least as excellent. I am quite confident that this is the best bakery. I've been to outside of Italy & even better than most there. There must be magicians & wizards in the kitchen, there's no other explanation.
Given the superior quality & taste of the products, the weekly menu changes, the warm & wonderful service, & that it's all vegan, I declare Cafe Dei Campi the best bakery in the world!
Consistently delivering some of the best service in the city, with an outstanding selection of mouth-watering sweet & savoury delights that form a cornerstone of Montréal's world class vegan food scene.
This morning we made one our regular pilgrimages to this absolute gem. As usual, the entire team were amazing, the vibe lively & welcoming, & our drinks first-rate. I'm not exaggerating when I say that every single thing we've ordered here, whether savoury or sweet, has been an absolute revelation in flavour & texture - the kind where everything stops & you & that magical bite are one. One of today's highlights was the sublime Brioche à la ricotta avec fines herbes & citron! This incredible place & its wonderful staff are one reason we will never leave Montréal! Thank you, Café Dei Campi! ♥?
Best cafe we visited in Montreal & great value for the high quality of food! There was such a wide selection of sweet & savoury baked goods - all Italian inspired & vegan too! Super friendly staff & nice cafe atmosphere.
As a vegan of 28 years, this place is definately one of my favorites & a weekly ritual. Owners are super sweet & always there during opening hours. Quality of pastries & food in general is consistently amazing, definately some of the best I have ever tasted by far.
This is one of my favorite places in Montreal, & such a hidden gem! I've been taking here & recommending this place to everyone I know, & in turn anyone who tries it becomes obsessed with it. For some time, I would come here every weekend & walk about 35 minutes each way just to eat here.
Food: absolutely delicious. I'm from Italy & their food just brings back all the best memories I have from my home. The pizzas are my obsession & every week they change their main dessert, always hitting that sweet spot in my heart. Ah, did I mention that all this is 100% vegan 😍
Drinks: if you want to try an authentic italian coffee, come here.
Staff: Nico the owner is always super kind, smiling & I always enjoy to chat with him in Italian. The rest of the staff is also very kind, despite the business of the place.
Tip: avoid coming between 11am & 1pm as it's usually the busiest time, unless you do takeout. Unfortunately they don't have many seats, but then again, if you are not rushing, you are able to get one eventually.
