We tried many of the coffee shops in Old Montreal & once we discovered this one we kept returning because it had superior quality & execution of the espresso beverages. My favorite drink was a latte with an extra shot of espresso. Good pastries & pre-made sandwiches, too, which were perfect for traveling home. You can skip the fluff elsewhere & simply get the best coffee here.

I stopped by here during my walk through Old Montreal & was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the coffee. The atmosphere is very authentic & feels like a true European cafe tucked away from the main tourist strips. The staff were professional & quick despite the morning rush. I will definitely make this a regular stop whenever I find myself wandering through this part of the city again. Highly recommended for anyone needing a caffeine fix.

Honestly one of the best little cafes in Montreal. The pastries are fresh & the coffee is roasted to perfection. I usually order a flat white & it has been prepared perfectly on every occasion. It is a fantastic spot to sit by the window & watch people pass by on the cobblestone streets. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you receive & the location is hard to beat. I really appreciate how the staff treats everyone with genuine kindness & efficiency.

This place has become my go to spot for an afternoon break when I am working in the area. It is rare to find a cafe that balances good aesthetics with actually excellent espresso. The interior design is tasteful & keeps with the historic feel of the neighborhood without being over the top. It is quiet enough to read a book or have a conversation without needing to shout. Great service & consistently good quality drinks every single time I visit.

I have heard great things about Mercanti for years so decided to try it as I was in the area. What looks like a tiny café from the outside is actually quite spacious inside with great ambiance. The sandwiches, desserts, & of course coffee are just about the highest quality you can find. Great experience, will be back.

Got a cappuccino, amandine croissant & porchetta sandwich & they were all amazing. As an Italian finding such great quality of the above is rare, simply delicious. Service was quick & staff very friendly. I will for sure be back!!
