Was excited to try this place based on reviews. I am very picky on coffee & I have a very high standard, this place did not meet my expectations but it was very crowded & everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Staff is very nice & it was quick enough to get everything despite it being so busy.
If you are the type to enjoy Zab & other very high specialty coffee this place will probably not meet your expectations, but there is nothing wrong about it.
I got the iced tiramisu latte which was good. I wish there was AC & the size was bigger for the price. It is an aesthetically appealing drink which I liked.
Montreal's coffee game is insane, honestly- Almost Every local shop maintains an incredibly consistent high standard across the board
Their lattes are next-level good; the foam's so silky & smooth, the coffee & milk blend so evenly without one overpowering the other, super creamy & well-rounded.
We stopped by & tried their maple cinnamon & butter caramel lattes, & both were absolutely delicious! The flavours were perfectly balanced, & you can tell they take pride in making great coffee. The staff were also friendly & welcoming, which made the experience even better.
The café can get quite busy, & seating is a bit limited, so you may have to wait for a table or grab your coffee to go. That said, the quality of the coffee is definitely worth it, & we'll definitely be back!
Always too busy to get a spot, but one thing that peeved me was I bought a jumper from them & wasn't given a receipt but was told at the time I could return it whenever. Then I needed to after trying it on. Suddenly none of the staff knew how to process a return. A large queue formed behind me & then thankfully (or not) the manager showed up. The girls were sweet & apologized but the manager seemed suspicious of me & checked out the jumper infront of everyone in the cafe incase I'd damaged it. He seemed annoyed I did not have a receipt & then they didn't even seem able to refund me to my card & gave me cash without option.
The manager, tersely, told me afterwards to bring a receipt in future & I again told him I was not provided one by his staff in his cafe.
It was an unpleasant experience & frankly super unncessary. People forget it's just a cafe they are working in, not a medical emergency room, & even then it's not that serious, but treating customers like crooks is probably not the way to ensure return business when there are dozens of cafes in a square block not overrun by unfriendly hipsters.
