Reviews sketch Bun Mam Ninh Kieu as a neighborhood gem offering hearty, comfort Vietnamese and Southeast Asian dishes at reasonable prices, with large portions and fast, friendly service. The pho, especially the house special, is noted for depth and generous protein, though a few reviews mention occasional underseasoning that can be corrected with a touch of salt. Banh Mi and lemongrass beef bao are frequent favorites, along with other items like Bun Xeo and Bun Mam, praised for crisp textures, flavorful sauces, and menu variety beyond the usual soups. The Mi Lakay noodle soup is recommended for delivery, and strong coffee and vegetarian options also get good mentions. The setting is described as cozy and clean, with attentive staff and a welcoming, no fuss vibe that suits solo meals or larger groups. Some praise calls it one of the best authentic Vietnamese spots in Canada and a reliable go to. A minority report inconsistencies or smaller portions for the price and occasional flavor gaps, but overall the place is seen as versatile and satisfying for casual meals.

Bun mam was nothing special... imo, not enough flavors. Bo la lot was good but portions are small compared to price. Kinda sad no shrimp (or I didn't taste or see any) in my banh bot loc
;(( could easily improve I believe! ;))
On y est allé cet après midi. Super bouffe super resto. Il y a beaucoup de choix sur le menu, une variété de tous les plats vietnamiens connus & moins connus. Le serveur était vraiment gentil & offrait un excellent service. Je recommande vivement à tous.
The veggie/ tofu banh mi with peanut sauce is AMAZING! I stop here whenever I'm in Montreal. Takeout is ready in like 5 minutes & they have tons of vegan options! The staff is also so nice.
2025 dine in: the grilled beef in betel leaves were delicious. The Singapore noodles that my friend got were well seasoned but she didn't enjoy the dish overall. The BBQ beef Bao buns had no flavour. Service was friendly & efficient. BYOW helps. Aquariums help the otherwise stark black & white decor. 2023 delivery: Banh Kot was alright, basically eggy cakes with a shrimp on top, very filling. Ban tom Ninh kieu was all oil & no taste. Bao thit ko was typical. Bao Xeo was basically an onion omelette, very filling. Lemongrass short ribs were okay. Shrimp were not seasoned in any dish, pretty disappointing overall. Packaging was all styrofoam (not recyclable here)
Very Southern Vietnamese dishes. Specifically the Bún Mấm. This is the Ba Xuyên, Bạc Liêu, Cà Mau style (Bún nước lèo). Not Sai Gòn style bún Mấm. It is lighter fermented fish soup with slightly under cooked bigger size rice noodles. It is very interesting dish. You should give it a try. All other dishes that we had, were good too. The owner's mother tried all dishes before they put in the menu. Very home cooking

*** NO VEGAN OPTIONS *** Not sure what happened here but earlier reviews & menu pictures mention an abundance of vegan options. I came here based on this review history & found a totally different menu with one sole vegan option presented :( Disregard all the mentions of this place being vegan friendly as it is no longer so. We did stay & I ordered the only vegan option: a very token vegetable stir fry. I actually enjoyed it but for $17 the portion was much too small, only a large handful of vegetable pieces & a few strips of tofu. I left still hungry. The service was (very) fast & friendly but unfortunately I won't be back as there are no vegan menu items & the portions are much too small. If you're not vegan maybe disregard my review.
Delicious! Everything we had here was fantastic. My family loved the bun mam & it reminded us of home. We also had the banh khot, banh tom, & banh hoi with nem nuong which were all great.
Ive tried at least 3 different soups, most you cant find in your regular vietnamese restaurant. All super authentic & delicious. Spring rolls are also great! Try the bun bo hue or bun oc
I loved the seasoning, the Tom Yum soup was delicious, the desserts, the starters, everything was to our complete satisfaction, the staff was very friendly & gave us good suggestions, totally recommended.
Cadre assez banal mais excellente cuisine vietnamienne. Les crêpes vietnamiennes (Ban Xeo) sont au menu ce qui est assez rare. Très bon Pho. Je recommande vraiment.
Never come here! First of all the taste is horiblle, second of all the waitress didn't even let me finish ordering, i've ordered the pho & before adding anything else, she started walking away, & i was telling her i want to order more! I don't know how they are stil in business, & for a pho soup & the rolls i payed 46$ 🫣🫣🫣🫣, i wish they close soon. & re think their career options.
