Great hotel restaurant!
We visited twice for dinner while staying at the hotel. Some nights it was easier than going back out into the cold.
The staff were amazing. Despite being overwhelmed by the large number of customers each night, they maintained a positive attitude, were friendly hosts, & did their best. The food was also very nice & reasonably priced.
The first night we went the bartender, dining room server, & manager worked hard to make everyone welcome. Things took a while but we weren't in a rush & we appreciated the server's own patience. Despite the crowd he took time with each visit to our table to give us helpful advice about Montreal.
The second night we went a different server did his best to take care of everyone. Things took a while but not too long. It was very European in that sense: the French spend several hours at dinner & nothing is rushed.
Hotel/restaurant management might consider hiring additional staff to ease the burden on current employees.
truly have no words to express how pleasantly surprised I was to find this restaurant here. The atmosphere is beautiful & welcoming, & our server was extremely polite, attentive, & genuinely engaging, we were completely won over just by the quality of the service. I unfortunately don't remember his name, but we went there for dinner on Dec 29, 2025. His presence was a Christmas gift for us!
The menu is absolutely wonderful. I could honestly come back every day to try the different dishes. It offers a variety that's large enough to please any palate, yet not so extensive that it feels overwhelming.
Every dish we ordered was flawless. The prices are more than fair for the exceptional quality, & the portions were so generous that we even had leftovers for our next meal, unfortunately leaving no room for dessert.
I highly, highly recommend this place.
The food & the service is pretty good. One extra point for the needed free parking in downtown & another for not having such loud music as other brasserie places
We were a party of four. Two of us had meals that were simply fair-perfectly adequate but lacking any distinctive flavours or memorable touches. The other two ordered fish as their main course, which was unfortunately overcooked, & the plates arrived completely cold, suggesting they had been left to sit before being served.
Service, while polite, reflected what appeared to be an understaffed dining room: long waits for attention, slow delivery of dishes, & an overall sense that the team was stretched thin.
The service was EXTREMELY slow. We waited an hour (actually we are still waiting) for a bottle of wine… We had some water after 30 minutes. It seems like there was only one waiter on the floor. The happy hour was fun but if you want to dine here, plan accordingly.
Ordered the French Onion Soup, Grilled Octopus with Creamy Polenta, & Honeycrisp Apple Tarte Tatin with Ice Cream. The French Onion Soup was a good standard soup that came with delicious warm bread & butter. The Grilled Octopus with Polenta was easily the most photogenic dish on the entire menu (looks amazing), but the overall dish was a tad bit too sour for me (both sea buckthorn & preserved lemon in the dish); however, the polenta was A++, 5/5 very rich & delicious. The Apple Tarte was delicious with a nice slight bitterness to it that went well with the ice cream. The waiter was an absolute gentleman.
Nice cocktails, good food, great ambience & friendly staff !!!
We had such nice time at this restaurant because of Paul & Khadija. They are way professional, nice, & friendly. Would definitely come back!
We loved the restaurant & the staff professional attitude made us come again. Paul the manager is very nice & professional. Khadija the waiter should be promoted to a manager level for her friendly & professional performance.
Paul the manager of the restaurant is extremely professional, welcoming & friendly.
Khadija was professional, extremely friendly & nice above the level of being a waiter. She made our visit to the restaurant awesome.
Ottima birra, locale bellissimo e bella atmosfera rilassata. Menu vario e ben assortito. Decisamente consigliato
The place was virtually empty, so no excuses for not providing hot plates food. The lamb shank was almost the same twmperature as the césar salad. However, it was an amplecserving with a tasty sauce. I just don't really like having my végétales in the meat's sauce. I I really need ro have a hit meal actually served hot! Nir room température.
Drinks were decent, & staff was friendly, but my meal left a lot to be desired. Ordered the striploin & it was laughably small & thin. The side garden salad was bigger & more filling than the steak. Cost over $40. Absolute ripoff.
Also what kind of bar closes at 10:30pm on Friday & Saturday nights in downtown Montreal?
All around, a delightful meal. All 12 of us enjoyed what we ordered & Laika was an outstanding server.
La atención recibida de Hugo y Laika ha sido inmejorable.
La variedad de comida es muy escasa para la opción de buffet
