The Holder brothers welcome you to their beautiful Brasserie Bernard for a pleasant evening or a friendly lunch. This place has become a classic on Bernard Street in the beautiful Outremont district; the neighbourhood’s charm contributes greatly to the charm of the restaurant. Try their fine but unpretentious European cuisine, in a warm, elegant and vibrant atmosphere
Overall Brasserie Bernard earns praise for its warm Parisian brasserie vibe, comfortable and spacious setting, attentive and friendly service, and a varied menu that delivers well executed classics such as moules frites, onion soup, ravioli, duck confit and steak frites, with desserts like pavlova and pudding chomeur also mentioned; the ambiance and wine list are frequently highlighted and the place is described as lively yet suitable for couples, groups or special occasions, though a few reviews note noise levels and occasional slower service when busy and a few dishes that lack salt balance or are priced high for the portion; many guests say they would return, recommend Brasserie Bernard, and consider it a top French bistro experience in Montreal
Le plat & le dessert étaient excellents mais l'entrée de pieuvre était carbonisée. Impossible de couper quoi que ce soit. En fait j'aurais dû la retourner.

I like this restaurant, good vibes. The food is okay, it could be more special but that would raise prices & I feel this is presently a good bang for the buck. Cheers!
Les huîtres étaient plutôt petites mais bonnes, & les plats très bons. Par contre, comme tous les restos la salle est très bruyante, & ça nous pose vraiment un problème

Unfortunately the waiter this time around got our wine wrong twice before he brought the right wine & Calamar were a little soggy - not crisp but still one of my favorite restaurants around!
