The Holder brothers welcome you to their beautiful Brasserie Bernard for a pleasant evening or a friendly lunch. This place has become a classic on Bernard Street in the beautiful Outremont district; the neighbourhood’s charm contributes greatly to the charm of the restaurant. Try their fine but unpretentious European cuisine, in a warm, elegant and vibrant atmosphere
Overall Brasserie Bernard earns praise for its warm Parisian brasserie vibe, comfortable and spacious setting, attentive and friendly service, and a varied menu that delivers well executed classics such as moules frites, onion soup, ravioli, duck confit and steak frites, with desserts like pavlova and pudding chomeur also mentioned; the ambiance and wine list are frequently highlighted and the place is described as lively yet suitable for couples, groups or special occasions, though a few reviews note noise levels and occasional slower service when busy and a few dishes that lack salt balance or are priced high for the portion; many guests say they would return, recommend Brasserie Bernard, and consider it a top French bistro experience in Montreal

Brasserie Bernard is easily one of the best restaurants in town (superb service ---uniformly well educated/well trained, friendly & Pro at once --, superb food). A great restaurant, indeed. I will happily eat here again.
I had lunch at Brasserie Bernard yesterday & it was a terrific experience. We had moules Marinières (from PEI) with frites-{is there any other way?}. The meal was delicious. Service was wonderful & the atmosphere was very pleasant. I heartily recommend the restaurant.

The fish & chips served cod that was extremely cooked on the outside with undercooked on the inside. Chips seem to have been thrown on the plate & all for $28. Very disappointing
