babka(42) chocolate(35) bakery(17) sweet(15) pastries(14) cheese(11) cheesecake(10) crown(9) fresh(8)It has definitely earned its moniker as a local institution. The crowns are second to none & the chocolate babka is a must have. Most of what they make here is pretty good. I've had some issues with being sold a box full of stale rogolach & cannoli. I also witnessed a bearded man get harassed in store by a different client & he was not reprimanded nor was the victim offered anything as compensation, the staff pretended like it was not happening.View more
Lovely bakery with a nice variety of pastries. Nice service, good prices & yummy. Don't come too often or you'll be rolling like a ball (too yummy! & you will become fat )View more
Grabbed some nice snacks for my friend daniel aka napView more
Best bakery in Montreal Let me specify. The donuts & the babka. The donuts: For my personal taste, simplicity is best. Which seems like an easy obstacle to overcome, but this isn't the case. Most donut shops produce a donut that is too oily, to sweet, not crispy, too much of a cake texture. This is not the case for the cheskie chocolate donut. It makes me think of the New York classic chocolate glaze donut. Simple, crispy exterior, soft & gooey interior the perfect blend. The chocolate glaze actually tastes like chocolate. & the thickness of the glaze is sufficient. The babka A unique & tasty treat. I read some of the other reviews here indicating the sweetness. It's a fact. They are very sweet, rich, dense, & delicious. I brought the babka to my Christmas dinner & they were a hit, & you don't need so much to quench that sweet tooth. So yeah technically very sweet, but you just can't or shouldn't eat too much of it. Anyway, taste for yourselfView more
Disappointing, honestly. Too sweet, & it felt like it was covering a'stale' taste (as if the pastry was not fresh). Considering the overall score I expected a lot more. As another reviewer said, there are way better bakeries in MTL than this one.View more
Some of the best Jewish pastries I've ever had. Just slightly pricey but worth every penny!!View more
This place gets super busy but the line goes really quick. Came here to try the babka as per recommendation by the locals. It's quite rich & sweet for my liking but good for the ones who loves sweetsView more
J'adore ! Je recommande surtout le rugelach aux graines de pavot & les cheese crowns. Les prix sont très justes aussiView more
Staff are always friendly & willing to explain the different desserts & pastries they sell. It is kosher if anyone is wondering.View more
The baked goods are very good. Amazing babka! Also, i got a little chocolate thing that I thought was a brownie with nuts, & it was so much better than I thought it would be. It was mostly chocolate & had some salty peanuts in it. I wish i had gotten more than one.View more
This place has the most delicious 🤤 desserts if I have the opportunity to go again definitely 💯 I'll go. It's a must to visit & try the variety of desserts that they have.View more
