If you've ever been to a wedding & wondered where they got their bread from the gloriously pluffy egg salad sandwiches or the scintillating cucumber bites, it was probably from Au Vieux Four. & much like a wedding this story has a sweetness to it as well with daily donuts, particularly the'twist' which may or may not be the reason donuts should be illegal. They are that good. The people who work here are so nice it's a pleasure chatting & I encourage you to walk in & do a high scissor kick to show your appreciation. David Lee Roth & I once spent an hour trying to decide on the square loaf, the round loaf, or the dinner rolls. We ended up getting all three & we still talk about that night today.
