We stopped in for a quick lunch (sandwiches & dessert). I ordered the pan bagnat, a Nice-style tuna number I've had a thousand times in southern France. Salty, oily, honest.
But this version came with a surprise. Mid-bite, I hit something soft, elastic. I pulled it out, & there it was: a used finger BAND-AID.
Straight from someone else's hand into my mouth.Let that sink in: a BAND-AID. In. My. Sandwich.
To the manager's credit, she didn't flinch. Apologized immediately, reimbursed the entire meal, & told us the food is made off-site in a central kitchen. She assured us she'd raise hell with the supplier. She owned it & I respect that. But even with that responsibility taken, there's no coming back from this.
This wasn't some back-alley food stall in Bangkok where you expect the unexpected. This was a corporate operation (Ange is a chain), a system that's supposed to run with standards & controls. That's what makes it worse. This didn't just slip through the cracks. The cracks are the system.
Nothing has ever turned my stomach like this. Ange Bakery? Never again. Industrial food at its most careless.
Solid sandwich / pastry spot with a good selection. Service was quick & friendly.View more

Bonne boulangerie a la française, malheureusement le personnel pourtant nombreux est vraiment tres tres lent, quand je rentre j'en ai toujours pour un bon 15min avant d'en sortiView more
Absolutely love this spot! Boulangerie Ange at Humaniti on Viger Street is modern, bright, & welcoming, perfect for a quick coffee break or a casual meet-up.
Their selection of breads, viennoiseries, & sandwiches is excellent. You can tell they care about quality ingredients & fresh preparation. The croissants are buttery & flaky, the sourdough is top-notch, & their pizza slices are a surprisingly great lunch option.
Service has always been friendly & efficient, even during the busier morning rush. Plus, it's great to see a bakery maintain high standard while keeping prices reasonable.
Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area or looking for a new favorite bakery downtown!View more
Stopped here to grab a bite around 8 am. Everything looked absolutely amazing & fresh. Had the Ham & Cheese croissant, super flaky & buttery, under $10. Look forward to trying other items. Worth a try!View more
I don't know who gave this a less than 5 star rating! You are completely wrong.View more
For fresh bread downtown, this is a safe spot. Pastries are solid & their pizza is decentView more
I had a disagreement with the staff about a situation. I'm not upset that things didn't go my way, but I was really disappointed by how little effort was made to understand my point of view or offer any kind of solution. It felt like they just didn't care.View more
Très bonne boulangerie française. Service rapide. Variété de repas midi avec des suggestions de combinaisons en trio. Très bonne pizza. Le pain est très bon & la grande variété de viennoiseries fait rêver !View more
what I purchased was pretty a great flavor. The only thing that ruined it was the lady behind the counter, a very rude, pushy attitude trying to hurry me before I could make my decision. The first time I've ever eaten there, I was trying to be polite she persisted in being rudeView more
Les roulés à la cannelle sont très bons rien de très fameux pour la baguette & les viennoiseries.View more
We always make a couple of trips to this place when visiting Montreal. Simply really good & best value for money.View more
Les produits sont bien, mais le prix affiché n'a rien à voir avec le prix payé à la caisse, on se fait donc un peu avoir…View more
Hands down, my favorite bakery in Montreal. I make a point to stop by every time I'm in town-& it never disappoints.
The almond croissants are out of this world: perfectly flaky, rich, & just the right amount of sweetness. Their fresh bread is amazing too, & the quiche makes for the perfect breakfast-light, flavorful, & satisfying.
& let's not forget the coffee-strong, smooth, & a perfect match for anything on the menu.
Incredible quality, cozy atmosphere, & consistently great service. A must-visit if you're in Montreal!View more
The croissant & the lox sandwich were good. Big selection of desserts & baked goods. The coffee was not great. Service was alright. Lots of seating available, but they looked pretty unclean. Inside the hotel so good convenience location.View more
One of the best, if not THE best bakery in downtown Montreal with the best prices.
Authentic croissants & pastries, solid bread & sandwiche options. I go there on a weekly. Highly highly recommend!View more
